They handled RV's Japan release disgustingly this year. 

 

Release date postponed, new date randomly announced at short notice, no fanmeeting, no performance, no TV promo. Nothing. 

It sucks because WILDSIDE was great and the album was solid too. 

 

I hope the Avex team do a better job with aespa, but I'm not so confident. I wish they signed to EMI like SNSD and SHINee.

That means that she's credited in 6 episodes, it doesn't mean that she will appear in all of them. But by the looks of it, her character is at least recurring, so good for her

They've been linked in some way since 2000, around the time of BoA debut in Japan.

Avex once owned shares in SM and they had licensing deals to promote SM music in Japan.

 

But their relationship soured in 2010 and Avex sold all their shares in SM. It's during this time that SNSD and SHINee signed to EMI/Universal, not Avex for their Japan debuts. 

 

They restarted the relationship in 2011 though, because f(x) and SJ signed to Avex for their Japan activities, not EMI. 

 

Avex was also on SM's side regarding JYJ and tried to blacklist them in Japan, but they lost the court case in 2013. 

 

Since then, SM and Avex continued to work together. In my opinion, the partnership is not effective, SM artists could do so much better in Japan on another label.  

I ve seen on twitter that IVE is coming in august with their 1st mini, is it confirmed is a mini?

How does it appeal to Western fans? JYPE groups release English versions and forget about it: no performances, no promo, no playlisting, and at the Western concerts and shows they all perform the Korean versions. Even fans neither care nor stream them  a waste of time

TxT used to have cute bops and they being delusional about their "It Boys status" is kind of funny. 

The Enhypen guys have a perfect discography until their last mini.

Well, I think SM isn't really interested in Japan tbh because EXO was doing good with their japanese versions and when the real japanese debut happened they pulled a WJSN    The only thing I can make out of this is that SM gets to keep the most revenue and that's why they stick with avex. However they refuse to give japanese fans actual content. NCT127 sold decently with their latest mini yet we haven't seen any more material from them in Japan
