Michael failed to keep up with Janet after Control, agreed?
Janet definitely overtook Michael in the 2000s. All for You was massive and ruled that year, and a big comeback after TVR did worse than her self titled. If her label didn't collapse, it would have even more hits. That was truly the only time her album did better than Michael but from HIStory onwards they were close.

The banner of ATRL disgusts me
See, this is where I get confused because I've heard both that the kids description matched AND the total opposite. Also the description couldn't have been that accurate is if it was denied into evidence in the 2005 trial. I find this whole MJ allegations so frustrating to follow because both extremes will do too much. People who think he's innocent will obscure anything that points to him being guilty, and people who think he's guilty will omit some facts of the case to make it seem worse.

The banner of ATRL disgusts me
From my research into the 2005 trial, these books were in a closet with a bunch of other books/items/letters that were given to Michael by fans. His room is like 700 square feet and 2 floors, so it's not like they were by his bedside cabinet. The inscription in the first book is weird but the person who gifted the book to him said that she asked Michael to give it back to her and write a note in it, which he seems to have done. She even testified to it in the 2005 case. Also, his fingerprints were not found in the books. Ultimately, it's obvious he was inappropriate with kids but the question will always linger on how inappropriate which is why he won the 2005 case and didn't go to jail.

Madonna & Sabrina Carpenter - "Bring Your Love"
If you're going to name your album Confessions II, people are going to compare it to Confessions. Just because she's released pure **** in the years since Madame X doesn't mean people have to accept the most unseasoned song ever. And again, it's frustrating cause she just delivered a great song 2 weeks ago so we know she does still have it in her. For someone of Madonna's caliber and legacy we shouldn't be celebrating just cause the song is mid instead of actively bad.

Madonna & Sabrina Carpenter - "Bring Your Love"
Not to be a negative Nancy, since I desperately want this album to do well and for it to be great, but the whole "the vocals are stylistic" and "she's 67 years old!! how do you expect her to sound" excuses hold no weight to me (the latter especially feels particularly ageist). She sounds great on I Feel So Free, even if it's obvious her voice has aged, it works well! I think the same can be said for most of Madame X as well, yes she sounds aged but she still sounds great (if we ignore the moments where her grill makes it sound like she's gargling mouthwash while singing). I don't think most the complaints are "oh she sounds old" it's more "the vocal production is actively BAD". I mean at 2:35 in the song where she sings "I always pay the price" there's straight up a vocal glitch. I think it's frustrating for long time fans because the use of effects on her voice has been a staple since Music album. Impressive Instant, Nobody's Perfect, Paradise, Hollywood, I'm So Stupid, Die Another Day, Forbidden Love, God Control, I Don't Search I Find, even I'm Addicted from MDNA are all great examples of how she can use effects on her voice in a way that's actually pleasant but this song isn't one of them and the direct comparison next to Sabrina's voice makes it stick out more. I just wish if any lesson was learnt from Madame X, it would be the great vocal production but... I can't see that on this song sadly.

Madonna & Sabrina Carpenter - "Bring Your Love"
I'm getting whiplash. I Feel So Free is one of the best songs she's made in the last 20 years but this is probably my least fave lead single of hers ever? Give Me All Your Luvin is beneath her and slop but it's fun as hell. I don't even get the L4L and Medellin hate. This just feels so boring and lifeless. Hopefully this is just an outlier.

KATSEYE - "PINKY UP"
Lol right? Never even thought of that. You get a wave of good publicity because your diverse 'global' girl group did a GAP ad which contrasts against the eugenics Sydney Sweeney advert and then… you kick out the black member? It's almost comical if it wasn't sad.

KATSEYE - "PINKY UP"
The whole point and appeal of the group is undermined if Manon leaves. Global girl group with no black member? It's just stupid. HYBE and their ability to fumble girl groups is crazy.

BLACKPINK. What went wrong?
This is a very western point of view though. Group members having solos is common in kpop so I don't think that mentally applies for Asia, in terms of the yo-yoing. I do agree the taste of solo success has changed the dynamic a lot though. Also, the girls don't spend time with each other anymore aside from their recent tour. The break should have been longer.

Michael Jackson estate sued for child trafficking by four siblings
The same people who are accusing him now were willing to lie about having unreleased Michael Jackson songs in July 2009 (less than 1 month after he died) in order to make money from his estate. I'm sorry, but it's hard to not take that into account when you look into what they're claiming. If they're willing to go that low so quickly after he died, then…

BLACKPINK - 'DEADLINE'
GO and JUMP are 10/10 for me. Don't really get why the other 3 tracks exist when it's obvious there was little effort or care put into them.

K-pop Thread: TWICE chaos at JYP? Who’s in, who’s out?
I don't really see how an I.O.I reunion will benefit any of the girls. Barely any of them are idols anymore, the ones who are idols haven't had major success in years and the group was only together for like 9 months in the first place. Maybe in 2021 when they originally wanted to it would have worked since IZ*ONE were still there carrying on that Produce baton but even then it would have been too early cause Somi didn't have a hit yet. Oh well. Ending fairy legend Chaeyeon is back.

Gaga teases Telephone continuation @ MAYHEM ball
Well it's Lady Gaga's song, so makes sense that her fans are the ones excited. Would be kind of embarassing if Beyoncé fans were as excited. But I guess it's already embarrassing that Telephone is getting her the most daily streams.

Katy Perry - "bandaids"
I think it's good enough. I think after the last 9 years of her career, the goal shouldn't be to have a big comeback but it should be to transition into a more HAC/Adult Contemporary vibe. She should have been doing this since Never Really Over tbh but at least it seems like we're finally there? She should really look to P!nk as more of a blueprint of what to do.

Hilary Duff - "Mature"
She already ruined the hype by the time Sparks came out cause of Chasing the Sun and All About You. I think Chasing the Sun had more hype (before people heard it ).

Lily Allen - 'West End Girl'

Lady Gaga
It was only ever a narrative on this site and similar stan obsessed spaces though. I don't think she's a legacy act yet obviously, but I think people view her similarly to Cher or something. Just a well respected overall entertainment force. If she releases something good/captivating, people will tune in. If not they'll just ignore, but kind of not make a fuss of it bombing or anything. It's a sweet spot. The best part of the Mayhem era for her career is how it's successfully distracted everyone from Joker 2. The album/tours success will probably help her movie career more than her music career. Musically, I think her legacy/place was set in stone with this era tbh.
