Yamato Nadeshiko Shichihenge is Kyoko Koizumi's 11th single. Upon release, it quickly hit no. 1 on the charts and became the 35th best-selling single of 1984. It was written by Chinfa Kan and produced by Kyouhei Tsutsumi, one of Japan's most renowned and prolific producers. Modern j-pop listeners may be familiar with him via DOUBLE's debut single and Namie Amuro's 人魚. The song was inspired by two things: Chinfa Kan's realization that the Yamato Nadeshiko stereotype was dead and An Actor's Revenge, a 1963 film about kabuki. 'Shichihenge' can refer to an actor quickly changing his clothes seven times, so the implication here is that Yamato Nadeshiko can no longer one definite thing. There also exists the longer version of the track. The song may have or may have not inspired the manga with the same name.

41. Minako Honda - Temptation (誘惑)

Temptation (Yuuwaku) is Minako Honda's 4th single and one of her best-known songs in Japan. Although it originally only hit no. 10 on the charts, it has enjoyed some enduring popularity. It was written by Takashi Matsumoto and Kyouhei Tsutsumi, a very successful tandem that birthed a lot of hits. The song helped Minako win the 'Best New Artist' award at several Japanese ceremonies.

Kyle-x: Love the vocal performance
AMIT: The chorus is so breezy in contrast with the gloomier verses. With a bit more oomph it could turn out amazing, but still a great song.
Suilen: Not my favorite by her (though potentially the most ATRL-friendly, considering that we're dealing with a rare Japanese Christian), which would probably be HELP these days, still a banger regardless.

I just want to say - I actually liked most of these songs dddddd;

 

I was just giving a lot of 6s and 7s initially and thought I should diversify and help tie breaking, so I went back and rated a lot harsher than I normally would   My Curaga serve.

The next two songs are tied and by the same artist, and some people are about to be real mad.

Aoyama Killer Story is RAMU's 4th and last single. It was released in 1989 after the band's only album, THANKS GIVING. The song hit no. 19 on the charts, becoming Momoko's least successful official single. It was written by Masao Urino, who penned a bunch of Momoko's songs and Akina's Shoujo A and Jukkai (1984), just to name a few, and produced by Tsunehiro Izumi. Although it may appear that the band broke up due to the single's chart performance, it was actually due to Momoko's desire to focus on acting. Despite the song's scary title, at its core, it's a love song.

Bara no You ni Saite, Sakura no You ni Chitte is Seiko Matsuda's 82th single and her most recent one as of now. Released in 2016, it hit no. 6 on the charts. The song was written and produced by YOSHIKI of Japan X. It was used as the opening theme for the dorama 'Seisei Suru Hodo, Aishiteru' and covered by Ayane Sakura.

romiskes: Listening to this for the first time was a ******* ethereal experience! If we've had 11s, this would've been mine.
Kyle-x: Oh this mournful moment… inject this into my veins
AMIT: You girls know I love me an urethral bop, and Miss Seiko did not disappoint. I even heard some of what could be Ai Otsuka's blueprint here? Anyway, the progression in this song is amazing, with her vocal delivery also shining through. Easily her best in the rate. 
Suilen: That was pretty good, always liked it. #ThankYouYOSHIKI. Also someone tell AMIT that the song was released in 2016 when Flai Otsuka was on her 7th album.

The way I wasn't even the lowest scorer either.
