48. Chisato Moritaka - 17才 (Seventeen Years Old)

17 Sai is Chisato Moritaka's 7th single. It's a cover of the song by Saori Minami (also known as Cynthia), a 70s idol. The original song was a huge hit, while Chisato's cover only reached no. 8 on the charts. Three versions of Chisato's song exist: an acoustic version dubbed as Carnation Version (after the rock band the producers belonged to), which is the first song on Chisato's album 非実力派宣言, a eurobeat version, dubbed as Orange Version, and the single mix in the rate. The Orange Version is the closer to the single mix, although there are still minor differences. The song's video was shown in gaming centers along with Wink's Samishii Nettaigyo on either empty machines or on the scoreboards. Chisato also wrote her reimagining of the song, 20 Sai, that served as the B-side as she was actually 20 when the single was released in 1989.

47. Seiko Matsuda - 裸足の季節 (A Barefoot Season)

Hadashi no Kisetsu is Seiko Matsuda's debut single. It was released in 1980 and reached the 12th spot on the charts. It was written by Yoshiko Miura, who penned such songs as ANRI's CAT'S EYE, Junko Yagami's Mizuiro no Ame and Shizuka Kudo's Arashi no Sugao. While the song wasn't an immediate hit, Seiko promoted it extensively, and it eventually reached 300k sales. She was also hailed as Momoe Yamaguchu's successor due to the song being reminiscent of the retired idol's signature sound.

Witches is Miho Nakayama's 14th single. It was a no. 1 hit and continued the fantasy motive of her previous single, mermaid. The song was written by Chinfa Kan, who might be known to modern j-pop fans through BoA's Valenti, and produced by CINDY, a singer-songwriter who was a frequent collaborator of Miho's and who contributed to Kaoru Akimoto's Cologne. Witches was also the song Miho debuted with on Kohaku.

Well, that's true, one song is also written by her daughter and another by Shizuka herself.
