Ugh I couldn't be here for the reveals but lemme say y'all did Miss Yuki wrong and I am kinda surprised those Chisato songs are out already. And why is WAKU WAKU still in? 

 

Hopefully y'all had mercy on my fave song, but from the looks of it my taste is a bit mixed given the results already so lemme prepare for the worst.

Akai no Sweet Pie is Seiko Matsuda's 8th single and one of her signature/most well-known songs in Japan, having been officially covered dozens of times. It was released in 1982 and quickly hit no. 1 on the Oricon chart. The song was written by Takashi Matsumoto, one of Japan's most prolific songwriters and Seiko's frequent collabotator, and co-produced by Yumi Matsutoya (under a pen name) and her husband. The song contributed to Seiko's success among women... and to red sweet pea becoming a thing, as Japan only grew white and pink ones. Yuming requested a pen name to be used as she wanted people to connect to the song regardless of who wrote it, and she knew that her name would've been a draw. The album version has a slightly different arrangement from the single one. It was used as the theme song for movie 'Onna ga Neru Toki' (literally While The Women Are Sleeping).

It was written by Chisato herself and produced by Miharu Koshi, mostly renowned for her 1984 album Parallelisme. Miharu was raised on French chanson, and a lot of her music has French influences, which transmitted to Chisato's song.

Back for More is the first track on Seiko Matsuda's 24th album, Glorious Revolution. It was written by Seiko and co-produced by her and Ryo Ogura, who was one of her main collaborators in the 90s. Despite not being a single, it received a video and was featured on several compilation albums along with singles, which solidified its status as a beloved deep cut.

NEW SEASON is Chisato Moritaka's debut single. Released in 1987, it reached no. 23 on the charts and only sold 44k copies. It was written by HIRO, who also worked with Misato Watanabe and SPEED, and produced by Hideo Saito, Chisato's long-time collaborator. Although Chisato's first written song was ミーハー from her second album, she's credited with a keyboard solo for the single.

Shuuten is the last track on Shizuka Kudo's 6th album, mind Universe. While its title literally means "Grief.", it's a homonym of 終点, which means 'last stop'. The song is written by Shizuka herself under her pen name Aeri and produced by Tsugutoshi Goto, who had worked with her since the Onyanko Club days. Shizuka tended to write the last songs for her albums for quite some time, although the tradition stopped at Trinity (she wrote the fifth song there).

AMIT: I love the vibe. The production is amazing and she portrays the vulnerable + confident duality so well.
