Just getting familiar with the sound before I sit down with the lyrics, but I already think it's a 10/10 anyway

And then you listened to Seaside and it's your fav album of all time amirite?

Okay so here are some of my loosely organised thoughts on the show I saw last night in Bristol. As excited as I was for Fire To Your Plain, Iieee is obviously the superior song and opener. I knew we w

That's all right, you will see the light eventually!

I discovered Tori after high school so I kinda overplayed everything from her atp. So now I'm absolutely starving for the new album next week, especially since it already got some positive reviews!

yeah I'm kinda shook by how positive the reception has been to Dragons, even from the stans who would normally be the first to point out poor vocals or loud guitar etc

Very exciting!

Pancake is a magnum opus btw

the random Sarah Mclachlan shade in the improv (first 90 seconds) bibliahh

Now you see Florence didn't even include the mega smash hits Amber Waves, Scarlet's Walk, Sweet Sangria, Gold Dust

At this point we may need a second rate for just her deep cuts + In Times of Dragons

Scarlet's Hidden Treasures

1. Ruby Through the Looking-Glass
Holy ****, what a way to start off this release... Amazing lyrics: really haunting, but also hopeful. Interesting musical combination of piano and country.

2. Seaside
What a tragic backstory, but it's a gorgeous song.

3. Bug a Martini
Was NOT expecting a shift to this sound after those first two harrowing songs nnn. Don't get the lyrics, oop.

4. Apollo's Frock
Prettiest piano so far ❤️

5. tombigbee
Fantastic imagery in the lyrics, really vivid and colorful without even mentioning colors. MARINA should take note!

6. Indian Summer
Ummm this one's my favorite so far; this is gorgeous...!!

7. Operation Peter Pan
Oh wow, I would never have gotten what this song was about without that context/quotation on toriphoria. Nice song.

8. Mountain
I gave this one a 9 in the rate. Love it!

Love seeing you explore her back catalogue!

She looked so hot yesterday in that all black kit, much better than whatever atrocity she was wearing in Belfast. She came out saying what a lovely day it was in the city with the nice weather and "We're going to bring Persephone back" and she paused waiting for applause that didn't come because nobody knew what the hell she was talking about (I suppose that is her way of saying Spring vibes?). Fire to your Plain is a bad opener though, to be honest, and I don't even dislike the song. It's just a bit too flat to set the mood. And then I was slightly unfortunate that the setlist for the middle of the gig was exactly the same as Belfast. I could do without Addition now after hearing it for the third time.

Shush was incredible tonight, and Stronger Together also sounded better than in Belfast, so the interplay with the band is becoming better and better. Mother Revolution is a slay live, as is Code Red, Mary was lots of fun. Black-Dove was fantastic and reinvigorated my love for the song. Precious Things scalped me and is so powerful with band and the backings. Electrifying! Worth the price for the ticket alone.

God works better as an opener than as an encore tbh. She ended with Big Wheel. Poor Dutch ladies next to me who were sure she was going to play Cornflake rip

Screaming at this cover art dies Midwinter Disgraces strikes again

Whoaaa I remember Daytrotter! They did this for every artist that was featured. This is so unfortunate.

Yeah, it's such a gorgeous, lush album.

Something I wanted to say during the rate but forgot is that it is actually quite insane how she has barely repeated herself melodically across a gazilion songs? Almost every melody is completely distinct.

She debuted Gasoline Girls & ITOD title track in Frankfurt.clap

i haven't deep dived yet into her discography yet, but i really love from the choir girl hotel and some songs from to venus and back. will check out this new album (EDIT: AMAZING!!! I'm not usually a ballad type of person but Song of Sorrow and Flood is so beautiful!). would love recommendations for next albums with some darker vibes!

side note, SOOOO unfortunate that courtney love got in between tori's and trent reznor's friendship and ruined it. could have had an amazing collaboration, they loved eachothers work. apparently some unhinged fan got trent to sign a physical copy of her single, past the mission (which has his bg vocals on it), and he told the fan not to ask tori because she'd be upset. and surprise surprise she was not happy at all rip
