Normani solo music and joint Fifth Harmony tour so they can do bigger venues. Who says no?

I would run to this so fast. Get them a cute Vegas residency and let's get something staged.

Yet another instance where she gives Motivation her flowers, twice. Safe to say she's going pop this time.

All this content. I hope we get something music related soon

This is the longest soft launch for an era in history. From Oct/Nov to now, Normani has fully been back out in the mainstream. Music needs to be teased next then booking promo for said music upon release.

Is that too much to ask for?

Jive Records which is under RCA, just relaunched as of yesterday https://www.hitsdailydouble.com/news/exec-moves/jive-records-relaunch-2026-02-03

For those who don't know, peak Britney, Justin Timberlake, Usher, and P!nk were all on Jive Records (also Aaliyah was signed at one point). This is a label that likes a singing and dancing artist.

They have a lot to prove with this relaunch and may be looking for someone surefire to start the label with. Someone like Normani (who was sitting under the main RCA and being ignored), could be a perfect candidate to shift over as one of their first artists and easiest to push.

Some other things that point in this direction: Both co-presidents follow Normani on IG (so at bare min they do know her).

Normani's team (Lydia and Ashanti) were recently in Miami then NYC for some unknown reason. The relaunched Jive Records has their HQ in NYC.

If Normani is actually on this label, it makes sense as to why she can't drop snippets or hasn't made any music related movement in the public eye because those things can only happen once Jive Records was fully relaunched which is now happening as of this week.

Other speculation:

Normani's rise and big moments all happened when she was signed to Keep Cool which was a part of RCA before the president (Tunji) left. On that smaller label, Normani was getting what she wanted for the most part. We got features, loose singles, videos, good radio play, etc. so that's something to keep in mind if this deal is real. There were delays but it was never as bad as this RCA only era.

The co-presidents worked with artists like Brent Faiyaz who literally drop projects and tour all the time. So it's safe to assume she would go back to a more normal release schedule finally.

what do y'all think she means by "i'm going back to my roots." or "acknowledging where i came from"? does that mean that she's going to do more pop or is she teasing a possible 5h reunion? (if she goes pop again, i still hope we're getting alt. pop/r&b songs like tantrums)

Normani either means Fifth Harmony style pop music or the original debut album theme which was going to be New Orleans Bounce/culture mixed with r&b + pop.

I'm hoping the singles will be more pop leaning while the breadth of the album remains r&b.

Motivation should have been the SOUND

She's teasing pop music to me. I think it's going to be like Motivation pop. I dont think she would be saying she is going back to her roots about the r&b/pop sound like tantrums because she already has songs like that on Dopamine but who knows with her? laugh. I like both pop and r&b so I am going to be excited either way as long as the songs are good.

Just seen Lolnetwork post on you YouTube with content from Normani episode on boss moves with "Alexia play Black women by Normani" I wonder what's that about

Interesting! I, too, have been following the Jive revival story, so it would be interesting to see if Mani ended up there.

Playing Devil's Advocate, though, I'd imagine she surely wants out of the Sony system altogether after the RCA mess?

Execs move a lot internally, so the very folk she may want rid of working with at RCA could easily be the same folk she ends up meeting again at Jive.

At the same time, there are definitely stories of artists thriving at another label within the same corporate umbrella when making a lateral shift.

IMO, I'd prefer she goes elsewhere. Warner, Universal, or even something unique like Gamma, which is indie-ish but has unlimited budget and resources, as well as Apple Music investment (look it up lol).

Sidebar: I need her to stop with the generic "new music is coming" spiel. I can appreciate that she is going to keep being asked, but she honestly needs a new line as it's becoming parodic. Between her, management, and her PR, surely they can come up with something else. "Stay tuned. I have an announcement imminently...be sure to follow me on social media". "Lots of music recorded, drop me a line on socials to let me know what you want to hear first. Uptempo? Slow jam? Let me know."

Something...anything...but "it's coming...I hear you...I need to do better on social media" is just not cutting it lol.

Can I be reverse Devil's advocate?

Who's to say Normani got out the Sony umbrella? A lot of the time when your sublabel (like Keep Cool) gets shut down, the main label (RCA) doesn't keep the artists. They just drop the artists (and we saw that almost all Keep Cool artists like Van Jess and Freddie Gibs got dropped but Normani and Lucky Daye got moved to main RCA).

The sub-labels usually sign these artists at a risk in a way then if they blow up, the main label usually takes over their career or starts to have more say.

So maybe when RCA took Normani, she signed a fresh contract that kept her still in the Sony world overall. If that's the case she owes them some albums and they dgaf where it comes from, as long as it's under the umbrella deadbanana4

someone said normani followed punch and he followed her. normani on TDE would be something ๐Ÿ‘€ idk how i feel about that with sza being major on there but maybe with normani going in the pop routeโ€ฆ

Interesting.

Her next move is kind of make-or-break. So, it will be interesting to see.

TDE is interesting. They definitely know how to put gas behind their artists (Kendrick, SZA, and more recently Doechii). But their expertise seems to be nurturing and pouncing at the right time.

Given Mani's story to this point, she needs a label that sees her as the next big thing and is willing to go all out from the get-go rather than any kind of "slow and steady wins the race" situation. Even though I wouldn't be against that if it leads to...something.

yeah i'm indifferent. i think normani being on TDE with how punch is so hands on and very engrained in the industry he could push for her. i think them following eachother obviously means there were discussions or things brewing. i wouldn't be against it. but idk if i want her SOLELY on TDE.

hopefully a good thing if true.

People noticed that Normani and Punch (SZA's manager) have started following each other on Instagram. Punch also runs Top Dawg Entertainment, the label home to artists like Doechii and Kendrick Lamar, with a strong presence in hip-hop/R&B.
