DWAS is perfect since it gives her the momentum and credibility to go for #1 TTH and #1 Today's Hits with covers upon release week. Streaming platforms are not a promised thing to get those slots unless you're currently doing amazingly. Her last release, before DWAS, was HMH.. Even if she didn't give it a full proper promotional cycle or whatever, it still wasn't a good transition into her next era.

 

Obvs Bloody Mary also blew up, but they didn't even bother with good playlisting to take advantage.

Right! DWAS playlisting week one was decent at best, it had to prove itself to get to the top of todays top HITS!

 

Now they can put ABRACAGAGA #1 on TTH day one without any doubt. 2024Ga IS quite literally TODAYS biggest hitmaker, factually and statistically!

The visuals for JWT were immaculate. I don't really get how they fit with the Joanne theme, but at that point I think we all were over the pink hat lol, so it was a welcome switch up. I wish the era itself was more in line with it, but at least we got what we got!

The most contemporary song is True Love Will Find You in The End released by Daniel Johnston in 1984. The first Joker takes place in 1981 so unless they're don't care about being anachronistic we can expect at least a 3 year time jump

am I off when I say DWAS is the best Gaga has sounded on a song in a LONG time. Her tone is SO appealing to the ear on it .

 

im not a big balladga stan tbh, i like ballads but i feel like they aren't her strong suit, BUT, when she does a ballad well, she does it REAAAAALLY well.
