Did they even promote it for consideration? The window wasn't big between the release and the eligibility closing deadline no?

I keep seeing people talk about Chappell's "meteoric" rise to fame, yet I'm struggling to see it tbh… GLB has already peaked on streaming and it's getting awful radio callouts. They're already getting ready to move on to the next single. Her album is doing great and has had a Fame-like climb on the charts with multiple songs charting but nothing has really broken out like The Fame singles did, and this is at a time when it's sooo much easier for songs to break out on their own. It feels more like a Dua Lipa breakout than a Gaga breakout, but that's just my opinion 🤷‍♂️

Only promotion post release was the Max/HBO accounts posting clips on IG reels nn

 

And yeah the deadline was May 31 and this came out the 25th. Voting was June 13-24

GLB still pulling 5.6M streams on spotify after 150 days and 2M in US daily tho. 

We would die for LG7 lead performing like this in its first week let alone after 150 days (5months)

I agree, but that's also not really a fair comparison to make for Gaga. She's 16+ years in this, no one actually expects her singles to perform like those of a new "it" girl. That's why DWAS has been such a nice win.
