I'm reading that thread on Pulse Music, and peoples perspective of her is interesting to me, especially people that are maybe younger or have been causal listeners in recent years but never explored her full artistry or career. Like other than the user moaning that the song is payola'd, I noticed a Post Malone fan who said they both need to stop "re-releasing the same dull ballad they have been for the last decade and put out upbeat music like the Gen-Z acts have been doing. Something like Greedy, Espresso, GLB!". And I know it wasn't her biggest record, but Chromatica is literally right there. And it's not like it totally flopped into oblivion. She has 2 top 10's from it, one of them being a #1. I know Greedy, Espresso and GLB! don't sound like anything from Chromatica but the point is she's proven this decade she can still push a pop record. People expect her to flop so pull at strings to denounce her success, but if she was flopping they'd be saying "She's an industry legend, she should be smashing". I'm just not sure what people want or expect from her.
