We need something like this but for the Houston date but no Stupid Love and some Shallow :eli: Let's target some basketball dads and soccer moms

Probably because it's 2022 and TV promo does basically nothing :rip: The MTV Movie Awards will have about 50 people watching lmao

Not all of us are obsessive chart freaks though. We want performances because they’re fun to watch not because it’s lucrative for a single chart performance. I get it though, the streaming era has destroyed actual music eras. It’s sad that our faves will no longer do traditional performances anymore outside of touring

Oh, of course it would be great to see her perform, but sometimes it's just not realistic. Usually the point in promo performances is to promote the song and increase it's performance, not just for the artist and their fans to have fun as much as we would like it. They aren't going to spend money on booking her TV slots to perform a soundtrack single for a movie she isn't even in, especially when she is probably deep in preparation for her upcoming world tour at this point. Plus I doubt they are really aiming for Hold My Hand to be a smash hit. Even without it doing huge numbers, it's kinda doing it's job. Giving Gaga her coins from the movie placement, and keeping her in the attention of the movie's demographic.

It was cute when artists performed on every TV show to promote their single, but yeah like you said the industry is different now and those tactics don't even serve their purpose anymore.

I believe she will do performance at Oscars and maybe Grammys, if she scores nominations. I think we should realize she is not in her 20s, and she won't be hustling as much as she did during TFM+BTW era. We should get custom to limited number of performances for songs.

Shallow should've been included!

I wish they were tbh. Having 17 top 10 hits is nothing to scoff at, but she’s so close to 20 and it’s going to be harder for her to nab hits the older she gets. You think they would try and take advantage of HMH.

Tv is not more the best Avenue for promo. We need a streaming site to create a new performance show!

I'm sure she has more top ten's ahead of her, and I get that fans obviously want that for her... but there also comes a time in every artists career where that just isn't the main focus anymore, because it doesn't advance their career any further than critical acclaim/awards etc do. After having so many top tens, that same hunger for more just isn't there. Having said that, I'm sure there will be a push for her next lead single, but this is just a side project so it isn't going to receive the same push or promotion. Plus, record labels tend to be more realistic and pragmatic than fans. Like some fans were expecting a top 5 debut for HMH when realistically that isn't going to happen in this chart climate. Gaga's team and label know that promoting HMH on TV will do next to nothing for it's chart performance, because the high end of the charts is full of the streaming giants and Gaga performing on Jimmy Kimmel or GMA or wherever won't make a dent in that. It's best chance at more success is radio which is already a battle for Gaga these days, pop radio barely even gave Shallow a chance.

I can kinda see her next pop era aiming for critical acclaim rather than chart success and they will probably just push one single to be a commercial hit.

I've been saying this... Netflix or Apple should have created a modern day TRL already by now. The only thing is I'm not sure it would have much appeal with Gen Z, as they already have access to their faves 24/7 on social media, so the draw and allure of getting to see your faves perform outside of big events just isn't the same anymore for most viewers. The format is just pretty much dead which is a shame :rip:

You can do performances on TikTok like Rosalía.

This was excellence, for example.

But yeah, TV ain't it anymore.

I think netfix can do it... They just need to provide a stage... And interview style show...

this better be on every damn playlist on friday

I know :jonny: Because the soundtrack is officially released, they should use that to snatch the top spot under new releases everywhere too.

Knowing her team, it’ll LOSE playlisting support this Friday.

this works for gen z artists like rosalia but not really gaga's audience or the demographic for HMH, would be cool though
