I don't think she's been seen (or even been trying to be seen) as a provocative artist for years. And she's done that thing before in the past where she's given credence to the media and it hasn't exactly worked in her favour so why would she now?

She was on fire for the entire album because Lady Gaga doesn't need to write poetry to convey an emotion or give you a performance. SHE is the performance and that's always been the point of her music.

That's why music wise she is a legacy now., because she doesn't spark conversation around limits anymore.

Clothing department isn't shocking anymore and that's why her fans found chromatica a snoozefest.

An artist, who doesn't want to fight for his work or to challange the status quo, isn't needed. Now I get why Lady Gaga it's not considered a vanguard artist anymore. She's afraid to take criticism and doesn't want the anger of her fans. A very much person used to what evangelical america thinks of her to the point that she even changes the tone when approaching them.

 

Taylor Swift is more provocative when taking risks in her lyrics and attacking anyone or depicting the world with her storytelling. Lana Del Rey portrayals herself as the american ***** poet. Ariana cross the line telling a man to break with his girlfriend just to stay with her. These artists are not relatable as some might think. They put their lives into song lyrics and people sure are interested in gossips at best when they sing in a poetic way. Ups and downs, irony, happiness, ressentment and political nuances, all of that is there.

 

What about Gaga? The same dance music and weird fashion from 2010's.  It's a common place, it doesn't contest, it takes things as they are and it tries to conform not only to the way of the world, but also to the vision which the world has from her. What about the message? Aesthetics is important, but it isn't everything. When she debuted, the message was "I can be just weird as this clothes I wear" and now the current way of thinking, at least from a leftist point of view, is "I'm so ****ing weird that languange, thoughts and the world has to addapt to me". And guess what? The world has addapted to her weirdness.

 

All I coud hear in chromatica was she crying because some upsets in her life with generic lyrics and a dance beat. 911 its a scratch to the rip apart that it would be, if she released herself as a whole. I miss sarcasm and irony. Enough with self-pity. Seriously, you have ask yourselves what did she wanted to achieve with chromatica?

Can we just ignore it?
