So it could build nice and healthy radio audience and it won't drop out of top 50 after it gets playlisted?

Yes, because the song ain't smashing since day 1 = chances are RUINED. What's the point of releasing MV and getting #1 TTH if the movie isn't out for 3 weeks?

You've been melting down for half a decade :monkey:

then why release it then? if they aint trust the song would do a thing without the movie? make it make sense honey.

this release was a disaster even before release!

go back to reality.

To gain radio points ofc

gaga release gaga/Tom sextape, it’s the only way to get a smash now :bird: since liddos insist that gaga is a failure and a flop if she cant get this song to #1 15 years into her career, like whats the point of releasing a song if its not gonna be a #1 smash. No point!!111

Wait...

I don't like the way they're talking about this. In order to be eligible for many of the Best Song categories, the song has to be written specifically for the movie at hand. They're making it sound like the song wasn't written for the movie and instead they just chose the one Gaga submitted to them.

Please don't speak of reality when you've never lived in it. :jonny:

They released the song on the day tickets for the movie became available to buy. This is not a Lady Gaga lead single, this is a single from the movie Top Gun. The purpose is to promote the movie, not promote Gaga.

friendly reminder that ARUTW would've been a career-defining hit had she released it properly

maybe not high peaks but a radio staple for sure

I misread this as they took a Gaga demo song and incorporated it in the film. We don't want another Moulin Rouge "Come What May" situation and be ineligible for the Oscars. It actually stated that Gaga had a song written for the film although still in demo form (early draft without polish). Pheeew!!!

Gaga fans saying it sucks and has no melody, yet the legendary Hans Zimmer loved it enough to make it part of the actual score. :ahh:

Wait, I did too. :jonny: Thankfully I continued reading and it sounds like she's in the clear.

The producers let record labels know they have a spot for an original song in the film and she wrote one for it and submitted it for consideration, like many other artists did, and they picked her. She's eligible.

She wrote HMH specifically with Top Gun in hand… and may have reworked a few things after seeing it in advance

Yep, the article in full makes that clear. We dodged a bullet.

It really perks up my anxiety when it comes with eligibility stuff. The TIHTY Emmy Ineligibility of Gaga, which ultimately led to an Emmy win still haunts me.

She should've been an EGO winner right now.

The song will have it’s time, shallow happened also because of it being used heavily in the trailer and the movie being out the following week

Thankfully they know the rules now and that won't ever happen again!

It’s smashing iTunes and doing good on radio

when it’s gonna get pushed on streaming, it’ll do decent enough imo
