Hold My Hand needed to be modernized, if it was just an 80s throwback song it would have been deemed unoriginal. This song does have a nostalgic edge to it, but it has some questionable production moments. 
Gaga songs are never perfect, they stand out because her vocals, passion and energy.

This song is growing on me a lot. If it gets pushed enough it will at least be a local hit in the US like You and I and Million Reasons 

I feel like you can say this about all of Gaga's producer collaborators. For me, what makes Gaga so special is that she is never "perfect". It makes her feel real to me.

her sound/style/lyricism isn't going to be what it was in 2018/2016/2013/2011/2009/2008, she's growing up and so is her musicianship and artistry. I think it's fine and completely understandable to not enjoy what your fav puts out (I hate Till it happens to you and haven't played artpoop in almost 2 years), but sometimes y'all can sound silly as hell with your critiques

the funny thing is that everyone who's like "shallow was so much better" hated shallow at first.  hold my hand will get its due praise once she releases another movie song and they hate it too.  

also, the song came out on on a monday night, what do y'all expect in terms of numbers exactly?

The way they're doing it with ARTPOP too. I lived through that entire hell hole of an era. The revisionism about the album and the era are so strange.

Dragged for what? This is a good song by an Oscar Award winner. Those other two are ass.

I remembered hating Perfect Illusion on the 1st listen, and it flopped to oblivion but will now die that it's one of her best songs...

 

With that said, I also was apprehensive with House of Gucci prior to release and when I saw it, was very underwhelmed and got lashed on this base.

 

We are allowed opinions btw, just as long as it's not parroting to the point of annoyance.
