It's a nice song and it serves its purpose, but I would never want an album full of these songs unless she went there with the writing. One of the main reasons the music from ASIB resonated so much with the public was because of the sheer amount of soul, thought, and love that went into the songwriting. Hold My Hand just fits the brief.

Yes, but writing a whole soundtrack album vs just one song is completely different. Like just look at all the sountracks were an artist worked fully on it, like Phil Collins on Tarzan, its because the songs followed the story.

And ASIB is a musical at the end, the songs serve to move the story foward, and every character has their own song, and Jack&Ally have songs that reflect their relationship 

Its not something that should be compared

OK, BTW was released 11 years ago. It's time to move on.

I have mixed opinions on Bloodpop’s work with Gaga. He did a great job with Chromatica. But I am not sure about his ability to “modernize” songs. 
Hold My Hand needed to be modernized, if it was just an 80s throwback song it would have been deemed unoriginal. This song does have a nostalgic edge to it, but it has some questionable production moments. 
Gaga songs are never perfect, they stand out because of her vocals, passion and energy. 
Sorry for the rambling post.

This song is growing on me a lot. If it gets pushed enough it will at least be a local hit in the US like You and I and Million Reasons
