I am aware of how hard it is to get an Oscar, but I do see her as someone very determined and ready to play the Hollywood game. I dont think it'll be easy, but I do think its achievable, even if it takes her more than 10 years...

It’s literally not unheard of. Anthony Hopkins did just that 2 years ago.

During the pandemic and he's old as hell. Besides he's a living legend. Gaga is an icon and will be considered a legend in the future for sure, but I'm not sure she has cemented herself enough to be able to pull this off without hurting her chances in the future. Don't get me wrong, if she doesn't show up I will copy + paste all of your arguments and defend her to hell and back, but I still think she should show up.

i think this works in Gar favor, every role she takes end up being Oscar contender. 

i don't get why y'all keep continuing arguing about her going or not at the Oscars when it's obvious she will attend at very least, unless she has truly valid excuse for not to.

Do you think that all the actors and movie people nominated are not working on something else as well? Brendan Gleeson who is on JFAD with Gaga has gotten nominated and he's gonna attend as well.

But she is very deliberate with the roles that she picks. She also has time to recalibrate between each role. Some of her peers get stuck doing multiple crappy movies in a row that hurts their brand and Oscar chances. 
 

Look at Amy Adams now, she is stuck in a cycle of awful movies. Once that cycle forms, it is difficult to break out of it

She should go. It’s not just a celebration of her work but a celebration of all nominees. If she can go in years that she hasn’t been nominated (three times), then there’s no reason to not go when nominated. Show up in some haute couture schiaparelli, do an orchestral HMH performance, cheer for the other nominees and call it a day. 

I know she's really focused on getting a Best Actress Oscar but she should also focus on eventually getting an Emmy and Tony.

I think she will win BA eventually down the line, she won't rest until she's snatched it lbr. But yeah, it's not gonna be easy and she will have to hustle for it real hard. 

 

She's just beginning her journey, her acting career is still very nascent. Even the most seasoned, veteran, revered actors get snubbed/are not in the conversation different years despite giving stellar performances in great films over their decades-long careers. There are just 5 slots each year. And she's just on her film #3.

 

Judging by the frequent, still-reeling-from-the-HoG-snub posts, some of y'all ain't ready for her future acting projects and all the possible outcomes (wins, nominations, losses, snubs etc) ddd

Whether Gaga ever secures a Best Actress win or not, she's already cementing herself as a legitimate, respected actor and one of the most important entertainment legends of our time. There is literally not a single contemporary peer (or many historic peers for that matter) that have or can do what she's accomplished: A meteoric music career and a meteoric acting career. And yes, ASIB and HOG were feats big enough to consider her acting career meteoric. 

 

This isn't like J-Lo where her overall success in weighted on her acting or like Madonna where her overall success was weighted on her music. We're talking about woman who does a sold out stadium show, goes viral with decade-old music in a period of inactivity, and then goes on to film an anticipated blockbuster in the span of 7-8 months.

 

The closest comparisons are Cher and Streisand. Accolades or not, we should always appreciate what an incredibly rare talent Gaga is.

While Gaga is filming a movie she also 

a. Got an Oscar nom 

b. Has a song charting in the BB Hot 100

 

She did this without lifting a finger. She didn’t campaign for HMH. She didn’t promote BM. Success is just raining down on her

 

 

The fact she got an Oscar nom with zero campaigning Definitely feels like they're making good on their HOG snub. Watch her win because of it
