Even though she was nominated for everything with HoG and everything pointed to a nomination, we really underestimated how rare getting another nomination for just your second major role was. We always set the standards so high.

 

This is a different case, though. BOS is much less competitive and only the music branch is voting for nominations. I will be more shocked at an HMH snub than the HOG snub.

No one's ever been nominated for their first two leading roles in a row, so it was always going to be a hurdle. the academy said put in the time nose! and be in a better film nnnn

The HOG snub was bad, but it’s not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things. She’ll be nominated again anyway. 

The fact she’s in serious conversations to actually get a nom ever since her first movie is quite impressive enough. Plus it’s not like the noms from other big organizations during the HOG cycle disappeared. 4x SAG 3x BAFTA nominee

I still believe she missed simply bc a lot of the voters thought she would get in and so they voted for their favorites, like Kristen. Makes sense and doesn't look bad for Gaga.

I really think a sped up official version should have been released because the fan ones on Youtube are like 58m for one and 30m for another.  Altho the official is upto 61m now as well. That fan music video was at 15m and now has 26m lol

This is the narrative I believe and will live by.  It would've been Nicole (frontrunner that time) but the BAFTA noms came out without anybody but Gaga and made her the frontrunner so they thought she's safe, making Penelope taking the 5h spot. That night (time zone) was rough.  But it shows a lot of her when she still showed up when the Academy rewarded her for presenting BP.

Holy hell. This is amazing. She sang Hold My Hand tonight on AGT All Stars and honestly gave Gaga a run for her money… almost is better than Gaga  it’s so hard to sing.

I usually dislike these talent show covers, 'cause it's usually just the singer trying to do vocal acrobatics for 90 seconds, and not really connecting with the performance, but she slayed.

It's the production/instrumental for me. It sounds too empty and robotic. It should have sounded more lively, like ASIB. The song is too stiff and programmed.
