I'm just being realistic. The fact that it very stable is a very good sign, and BM will likely surpass BTW (the lead single) as the most streamed song from the album. However, it is not making even incremental gains on Spotify, and radio updates are nothing to write home about. It's not going anywhere with those tragic 0.1M+ updates.

Did it not just rise almost 20 spots on US Spotify overnight in the last week? Sure, it might be over, but there's still a good chance of it repeaking over the next few weeks in the US. Songs can still do well without one format, like LOTB did. The constant doomsday conjectures is a bit much at this point.

What is "doomsday" about it? No one could have predicted that BM would be the most streamed song from BTW in 2023. It is doing great for a TikTok trend. We just have to manage our expectations since people expect it to be another ROTH and DFY.

Managing expectations and outright saying it's over with 1 very slight dip below 2m are quite different things.

I mean, why are you surprised? It's clear since weeks that the song has peaked, the trend is done, maintain stability and slowly decreasing has been the goal since weeks, it's already a lot that it survived Xmas.

i think it still has legs on Spotfiy US perhaps, i really wouldn't put stock on the radio but you never know. It's looking similar to her other songs where radio really wants to support it but then they just stop.

 

I actually think pop is gonna drop this in the next month and it will end up going further on HAC instead. This is a Sia 'unstoppable' on steroids (but will tank radio harder) and it's perfect, it's an old song from her catalogue not her debut LP+EP, she doesn't need to do anything

What are you talking about? It’s been growing in streams WoW and just a few days ago had its highest peak in daily streams since NYE. Not to mention it’s been rising in the US on Spotify WoW and position-wise.

I know we have low expectations with US radio, but you also have to remember that radio is usually a slow, stable growth. Songs usually peak on radio months after they’re released, or in this case after it goes viral. If I remember correctly, Applause didn’t peak on radio until October/November. Radio programmers seem to be on board with Bloody Mary. The song will either continue a slow, steady growth or they’ll drop it like a rock.
