HOG was more liked overall by Brits I think. Plus she got in for ASIB, so maybe it was an afterglow nomination. She was also the only American actress nominated at the Paris Film Critics Circle that year too.

If anything, "Arrival" was also snubbed in the "Best Actor" category. ScaJo's snub was probably more egregious since "Lost in Translation" was nominated in every major category except for Best Actress, and she won BAFTA on top of that.

She was definitely one of the most voted by members, doubt it was a committee pick since they were choosing poc or small actresses for that.

iirc Penelope wasn't even on the BAFTA longlist  and made the final 5. Cruz n/a (including her campaign) and Gaga everywhere, especially campaign. it's like they swapped places.

 

I blame academy beign too snobby for the film compared to other bodies, Cruz, and K-stew passion rally

The K-Stew support was baffling, honestly. That movie and that performance were both god awful garbage

If you have followed the best actress race this year, lot of famous actors have been pushed at the last minute an actress called Andrea Riseborough, who has never get any previous mention, if she gets nominated taking the spot of somebody who hit precursors, this is basically what happened last year with Cruz and kStew, just behind the scenes.

sunday's update was like 1.9M is going to come back to 2M+, so we are stable.. is rising on US spotify thanks to radio , last update we got top 20 POP top 30 HAC. we are fine.

why do you always make assumptions for the worst? your made-up scenarios hardly ever pan out and the song has been stable globally for weeks and actually rising in the US. one slight dip is not indicative of a pattern.

 

OT: Hope the song continues to rise in the US and makes it into the Spotify US Top 50 playlist at least.

Bloody Mary never got satisfying streams peak but at least it's stable and it's becoming US radio hit with 0 promo
