This is part 1 of the Lady Gaga discussion.

We need a repeat of the girl who was on set and heard ARUTW, went home, and someone recreated the chorus almost perfectly on her piano :WAP:

Considering the artwork looks like a still from the video, maybe it sound impossible, but Gaga in a desert with a white outfit, blonde long hair and dark tips, flowing in the wind, guitars and other ethereal sounds before the chorus hits. :jonny6:

We really don’t need another desert video.
PI, SL, 911. Imagine how tired we are.

i feel like song gonna have Dream On by aerosmith vibes thats why people say its rock stadium song or bop-ish with some dope kinda vocals

it's a very specific thing to pick too random songs and say they're inspirations...

I would literally DIE if the song sounds like God & I. That's like one of her best songs ever :jonny4:

These descriptions are rarely on point though, so this "Born This Way & Joanne" mess is probably far from reality. It's worse when people have very limited musical knowledge or don't give a **** about music and they're just there for the film. We'll see in a few days.

Pop adds date put up now too. As expected with any major release, it’s the adds date of the following week on both HAC (5/9) and Pop (5/10)

Let’s goooooo radio!

I hope it get radio deal, they seem to be having huge promo budget for the movie. They better spend some for song too.

I wonder what was going through their head when they decided to make PI the lead single of Joanne. Was it some sort of experiment to troll us?

From the general description of the song I'm getting "I Wanna Be With You" vibes.

I know it's like a demo and not a very well produced song, but the details of HMH remind of the overall feeling I get with IWBWY.

I really Pray HMH matches this production. I remember listening to this demo and being floored. Big Epic guitars, drums, dynamic contrast, lyrically moving, vocals not grating, but still have that Gaga edge.

Maybe for part of Tuesday, I think some Thursday releases etc. have gotten one.

I can't say I'm the biggest fan of radio deals though. They just inflate the start and then songs usually collapse after.

If she were trying to sabotage the movie, maybe. :eli:

Pretty sure it was Interscope who heard the album and said they needed to make a lead single and they made PI

When there is a movie and trailers carrying the song, her team won’t be able to sabotage it. It’s a good thing that A Star is Born happened that way too

According to PopA911 (LGNow), the next Haus labs photoshoot is inspired by the fame monster era. That's so random though considering they could have done this for the 12th anniversary last November.

I kind of understand why it was the lead. They obviously thought Gaga needed an uptempo lead, at the time she wasn't known for ballads yet. Out of the uptempo choices, it's probably the most distinctive one production-wise, with the simplest lyrical concept and refrain, since Gaga is a global artist and needs something that breaks language barriers. "It wasn't love, it wasn't love" is easier to 'get' than whatever the hell A-Yo is about or John Wayne.

The problem was the vocals...........shockingly badly produced, the first chorus especially is so hard to listen to, really jumps out at you in the wrong way, whatever EQ settings are doing the tone no favours at all. And probably should've re-recorded them anyway. She went too far with Count Gagula pronunciation. The producers probably thought it sounded raw and cool but it just sounds unpleasant tbh. It wasn't laaahh-aaahhvv Say what you want about Stupid Love but the vocals were produced flawlessly (Max Martin) despite the "harsh" tone she adopted not being that different. If they had done that with PI it would have done better. But as soon as the song hit that first chorus I knew it would flop.

Rats Labs better leave TFM alone. Their BTW tribute was embarrassing enough.

The problem is it doesn’t even have a chorus. When I first listened to it I thought the chorus was a continuation of the verses or a pre-chorus, then I was shocked it went to the second verse at 0:49. When songs like Dancin in Circles and Diamond Heart were waiting to shine at the super bowl, her team chose the most cheap, uninspired and basic song that plummeted so hard they couldn’t even include it in the super bowl. After ARTPOP and a 2 year break, she needed something fresh and easy on the ears but it was clear they didn’t learn from 2013 and repeated the same mistakes with picking wrong singles, taking long breaks between music videos and terrible videos. I mean, setting Perfect Illusion at a rave fest in a desert when it isn’t a dance song? Cringe

A-YO or John Wayne were more lead worthy Album sound wise imho..

If its Born This Way the song I like that.

I was expecting something between Gypsy, Diamond Heart and Always Remember Us This Way which almost fits in that definition :eli: Gypsy has that Born This Way album energy.

i said it in 2016 and I’ll say it again: they were never gonna let her sing an overt masturbation anthem at the Super Bowl :dies:

but you spilled with Miss Diamond Heart tho! :clap3:
