One of her best, truly.

Spoiler

I used to correlate the lyrics in the chorus to my oral abilities. They still hold true :gaycat1:

I think Gaga doesn’t want to work with redone because he reuses her production ideas with other artists and GahGah has issues regarding that.

Was she really not higher than #34 when Traumatica dropped?

Spotify only launched them last year in November. Before that it was only one Top Songs chart iirc.

Spoiler

But she was the #1 female artist for around a week when the album dropped.

Whats Bloody Marry ACTUALLY about tho? Can someone explain, like in detail?

It's a love song from Mary Magdalene's perspective who was one of Jesus Christ's alleged disciples.

A convent girl touching herself to a photo of a priest behind an altar, probably high.

Okay but WHAT is she saying at the very beginning of Bloody Mary? :rip: Is it HONEY? Is it MONEY? Is it BLOODY? I don't feel like I've ever seen an official lyric for it but I've always heard "money," but that doesn't make sense :rip:

she was the number one artist actually

Mary Magdalene was a prostitute and a maligned figure in the Bible. Jesus “saves” her by taking her in and loving her despite her sins. BM is written from her perspective and I guess a bit of revisionist history, spinning her as a misunderstood figure, fitting in nicely with the themes of BTW.

Bloody Mary is just like Judas etc, Gaga just loves to use her religious background to write songs about her relationship or about women in general. I think it's about how women in relationship are perceived in history. Mary was to be said a religious follower of Jesus, but did she? I think Gaga is questioning this because women aren't normally allowed to be portraited any way other than being an object of a powerful man in history, but only Mary knew what their relationship were like.

BM is a religious version of Paparazzi. Mary was kind of a groupie that would follow Jesus around like he was a modern day rock star.

It was never confirmed in the Bible that Mary had romantic feelings for Jesus, but it never specifically said that she didn’t. If Mary was alive today she would be a hard core Jesus stan and would have an atrl account to post his Spotify numbers

Definitely one of Gaga’s most interesting concepts for a song

All her religion coded songs are very hard to understand tbh, but that's why I love them. She didn't do that in Trumatica, one of the disappointment I have about that album.

Chromatica is her most personal album touching themes of addiction, depression and healing. The production might be basic but the lyrics and themes are very on point

yup in the hands of a different producer Chromatica might have been her best album

Same story on AM, it's already peaking in the US. That's not good at all.

Religion is very personal to her as well, I wonder why she didn't drew inspiration from it like she used to.
