The submission deadline for the Oscars is Oct 3rd… BP and Avatar songs won’t be out by then

Nov 1* studio’s usually submit songs ahead of later releases, only downside is if they mess up submissions w the wrong smash (ie Encanto) they cannot backtrack

I wonder where the Chromatica Ball will end up on year end boxscores. Do we think she has the biggest female tour of the year locked? Overall, I'm sure Bad Bunny and Coldplay will end up higher, but who else do we think?

I think it could end at #1 yes. Billie might come close but her average went down from +$1,7M to $1,59M so far once she started touring Europe. We'll see when the full numbers are reported.

Idk about that though? La La Land was released in December and its song was nominated. Maybe they do get submitted before the release.

La La Land premiered in August 2016. Surely, you couldn’t submit a song without the movie premiering for an audience. Will Avatar even be eligible for the upcoming awards season?

hello.

has Brooklyn Nights been released as a single today by any chance?

Yes, eligibility ends Dec 31st. Films technically don't even need to be in wide release by that date, just a minimum week in limited. Awards voters get digital screeners and there a private screening events for them too.

And the category submissions are different from eligibility. While it can be a gamble since you can pick the "wrong" song to submit (ie. Encanto submitted some ballad instead of Bruno last year), it doesn't matter if the movie's been released or not. It's just what the studio chooses to submit in that case.

If they hadn't added those last three shows in May, the tour wouldn't have crossed $100M and would be frustratingly close at just over $98M. :deadbanana:

in before IAW wins BOS

Gags ain't winning this year. The BP2 song will snatch since the movie will be the event of the year after what happened with Chadwick.

its not hard for Gar to win so soon after for BOS especially w the song being latched to probably the most populist Academy friendly BP contender.

HMH may not locked to win but the same can be applied for the upcoming BP2 track. Chadwick who had his BA win supposedly locked only to have King Hopkins pull an Colman.. and for all we know the music branch can choose to snub the song, doubt it, but that’s what happened w See You Again. even w posthumous performances and/or tributes, the Academy won’t hand out trophies like candy as we’ve seen multiple instances

are the gorls stilled gagged from the box scores :jonny6:

i know i am :deadbanana2:

I’m not predicting it but based on this year’s nominees and last year’s winner, I won’t be shocked if the House of Gucci soundtrack gets a Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media nomination (she’s not credited of course).

I know one of you queens has to know a good recording of the Chromatica ball tour on YouTube. :celestial4:

I would love for HMH to win an Oscar, but I don't really care if it doesn't. Gags' been there, done that. I just want an incredible performance and a cute sales bump, or maybe for the song to go viral and smash after it.

u07KjOW.gif

It just hit me that it will probably be nominated for a couple of Shammys too. Go Gags!

The fact that the song is not remixed/distorted + its name is on the audio description. :duca: Imagine Alejandro going viral, it deserves so much. :duca:
