if not, its probably very easy to change the date in light of DWAS's success

but idk if releasing your album while your 1st single is still smashing a good idea, i guess it helps the album but hinders other singles?

Yeah she confirmed it in an interview on the red carpet for the Joker premiere in London, and in the Vogue interview 

Because of all her committed festival performances and die with a smile doing so good right now (+ being on the album), I don't see any reason for her to delay the album or it happening

At this rate DWAS will overshadow any single she releases this year because it's not slowing down anytime soon.

 

They might as well release the next single and video now because hype needs to be built. They can't depend on DWAS to carry the album's hype since let's be real, those listeners did not tune into Disease and will not tune into the album. She needs to reignite hype within the core fan base.

Now it's official. Days at #1 on Global Spotify: 

1. Dance Monkey - 120 days
2. Rockstar - 114 days
3. Senorita - 103 days
4. One Dance & Despacito (remix) - 101 days
5. Shape of You & Die with a Smile (+1) - 98 days

DWAS will surpass Shape of You tomorrow (or maybe it won't surpass, SOY will just fall below ) and then most likely surpass One Dance, Despacito, and Senorita within the week. Rockstar will take a little over 2 weeks to surpass (assuming nothing else blows up), Dance Monkey will take another additional week to that. 

I wonder what the album cover will look like - will she tailor it to look light for DWAS, or stick with the black haired dark pop look that was the original concept?

The only explanation I can think of is that since the decision to include DWAS happened after the RS interview, they might have needed to work on LG7 a bit more to make it fit. By late November, she mentioned having a finalized tracklist and was discussing the placement of the tracks on the album. If they later decided to add DWAS, that could explain the changes but ultimately, we won't know for sure

Something just doesn't seem right about the album release, it's too silent.. She can't be pulling a Frank Ocean on us when we know she has the album ready and waiting in the vaults of her Malibu beach house..
