I was hoping she'd make psychodelic pop for DL3 but since Miley's already done this with her new album I'm afraid Dua would get criticized for hopping on trends if she went down that route.

I don’t think DL3 was ever gonna be like ESV, that’s not Dua’s style at all

In her defense, it's just an exaggeration, Miley is talking to Elton and Dua to LNX, it's not like they're actively ignoring eachother, they're just busy with other people

I was hoping it would be more like Tame Impala's "Currents" since she said its her favorite album + it is rumored that she was in the studio with Kevin Parker last November. 

I'll be fine with any direction she goes as long as the music is good.

If the Barbie theme song rumours are true (which I'm inclined to believe because she was already rumoured to be attached to the film in some way) then I think DL3 will follow a similar release pattern to FN, lead in Q4 2023, album Q1 2024.

I really hope this isn't gonna be a soundtrack year  FN is ******* 3 years old, give us an album

Yeah I don't see how doing a soundtrack single benefits her rn. She needs to give another iconic "miss me?" moment with the lead single later in the year

If she wants vinyls out on release week, the album will need to be finished at least 6 months before release.

Can't major artists book the printing lines months in advance while only sending the files when the printing starts? I remember reading that somewhere, but I'm not sure.

The talk about the lead coming either end of this year or 2024 are triggering me hard.

Wasn’t there talk that she was filming some of the tour shows for a concert film/doc? Was it scrapped or what?
