I mean we KNOW shes been recording tracks for a good 6 months already and that she has a very clear idea of what DL3 is supposed to be and sound like. I'm pretty sure it's coming this year, so that alone is more than enough confirmation for me personally.

It also doesn't help she's being vague about the sound in interviews. With FN she constistently said ''its retro, it's danceable, it's nostalgic with a modern twist'' So we kind of had an idea. But this.. she only talks about the lyrics and it being more personal to her. Ma give us something about the SOUND. Mention a decade, an era, a genre. ANYTHING

Yeah, and I'm sure she's intentionally saying very little about the sound - except that it won't be like FN - knowing that we're super curious about what the shakeup will be. 

 

My only nightmares are if the lyrics are too marina-y/Katy/silly woke, OR if the production isn't rich like FN. But I think she and team are too smart to do either of those things; they know Dua is labeled as quality pop and I don't think they'll want to lose that acclaim for some cheap tiktok-chasing messes. I'm sure they're making sure every single song is fantastic

They are and that's why it's taking so long. They need to create another perfect pop record. She can't afford to lose at album three. Even Katy didn't for all of the comparisons that we're making in this base

Actually, in June it will be 2 years since she started the DL3 sessions (that we know of - the first session was with Jason Evigan, Sarah & Coffee) so it’s kinda the same amount of time that she also had for FN - 2 years of recording. 

What we also know is that DL3 already has a name (since she had that Vanity Fair interview in June 2021). Fingers crossed the album it’s coming soon

She said it’s coming soon and her already having the name, concept and sonical/lyrical theme makes me think it’s coming in the next few months. I really don’t think it’s gonna come next year or even near the end of this one. I’m still hoping for something near MET gala. Also she’s been spending a lot of time in NYC and LA randomly which makes me think that MAYBE she’s recording something or doing some photoshoots.

I wouldn't worry about her getting Katy'd unless she waits for 2024 to release new music. Hopefully by mid-summer we will at least have the lead single.

 

Also didn't it take Warner months to prepare/plan the era before they even announced DSN? And that was her sophomore album. I'm afraid the pressure will be even bigger this time because living up to FN quality and promo-wise is a challenge.
