  • It was the best concert of my life, bar none. Idc!    It was extraordinary, it was ineffable.  I knew I loved it based on the videos but I... Hey I don't know.    Best moment

I know this award is a joke but the point is, she has cemented herself in history with the likes of Whitney and Lauryn. And on top of that she won an award for a genre that completely ridiculed and ex

According to billboard, WIO was supposed to serve as her albums first single and soundtrack single.  I remember it being served as her solo debut, too.

interesting read

It's indeed interesting but it is still based on the same narrative and on no concrete quote from her team, B herself or even Mathew saying it was intended as her lead.

I just find it weird to launch your most awaited solo album with a soundtrack single. It's however very consistent with how she dealt with her eras when she was still concerned by the commercial aspect of things : working on a film as an introduction of the era and its soundtrack to herald her return :

- she works on Goldmember, releases WIO and then the real single and album are different.

- she works on Pink Panther, releases Check On It and the Déjà Vu and B'Day are different.

- she plays Etta James, has a soundtrack song and IIWAB and IASF are completely different.

Beyoncé is just too much of a perfectionism for it to be a coincidence.

Nevertheless it can very much be true that Work It Out, a soundtrack single was supposed to be the launch of her solo career but the evidence seems thin.

I have been checking in and out but did we get updates on the trilogy thing?

That could be a great idea. Each album could be given 8 months to 1 year to breathe and then another one comes.

If it's also a different genre, it escapes the "rehash" or boring etiquette that sometimes follow sequels like JT's for example.

Time for a tragic take….I like Work It Out more than Crazy in Love :gaycat2:

I prefer this version more than the original.

When "Hung Up" came out Madonna was doing ads for Motorola, going to random clubs and DJing previewing tracks, doing performances all around the world on TV, radio interviews, in person interviews, she was not above doing promotion and on top of it all she also had kids and had fallen off a horse and broken a ton of bones a few months prior, and she still did it to give the full comeback smash era experience.

Beyonce really pressed 'post' on Instagram and that was it. I cannot.

Times have changed and social media has no mercy on people like Beyoncé. If she says a word there’s thousands of racist people calling her illiterate or uneducated. And it’s just not only her haters, her own fans constantly comment on her weight as if we have any business in that. She also can’t appear with her husband because apparently then she’s “shoving him down our throats”. And is she appears with her childrenthey get called ugly, etc.

And it’s not just Beyoncé, that also happens to really charismatic people like Adele or Lizzo. Why would she expose herself that much when people only want to see her fail? She’s worked hard enough her entire career to get to the point where she can do her art without having to expose herself to that kind of judgement.

I thought it was known fact Beyoncé scrapped the original DIL album.  Work it Out, Wishing on a star, my first time etc.

Crazy In Love, Naught Girl, that was DIL refurbished. And thank God.

But nobody forces her (I suppose) to check what fans or people comment about her online. She most likely doesn't follow what happens on social media that much either way, so is there a differece if she gives an interview or performance and ignores the Internet?

She does interviews. Written ones so nobody says she can’t speak. We’re only getting that or her own documentaries.

Y’all know Bey isn’t going to give y’all a gold sticker for pretending to like the rollout right?

Am I supposed to not like it? She gave us a date from day one, I can be patient and be hyped at the same time. I trust her to come through on album release date, that’s all. For now, BMS is a hit and has legs.

You’re supposed to feel however you feel about it :chick1:, but some girls in the thread have been trying to play Teacher’s Pet for the past few weeks acting like they’re “good fans” for not being annoyed, meanwhile Bey has no idea they’re even enrolled in the class.

Nobody's playing teacher's pet, we're just not consistently miserable. :toofunny3: It's really not hard to just enjoy what we have and look forward to what is to come, as opposed to waking up every day raging that the video still isn't out. :skull:

I wouldn't be mad at a reworked Wishing On A Star on Renaissance. Slinky smooth synth-y 2022/early 80s-style version. :gaycat1:

I get it, our fav is lazy. Don't even think of world tour right now because our fav prefers to stay at home apparently.

This! We’re also just being realistic. This is Beyoncé we’re talking about. Idk why they keep holding her to the same standard as these pop girl re promoting her music… They just keep setting themselves up lol

Tbh I understood that last week or so, but seeing how some had a meltdown over that potential set-leak of Freedia and AGAIN complaining (now their vision was not met for BMS) tells me all I need to know.. Jesus is needed (and therapy)

Eh no some people are definitely on a high horse because they just want the music and feel above conversations about promo, sales, etc. :chick1:

I was mad the first week but I’m ok with it it now. If she flops that’s on her.

Hopefully something big is coming with the album release and I don’t mind waiting for that. If the video came out the first week, you know people would already be over it, like people in the base have admitted they don’t even play BMS.
