I've said this before but as a body of work, The Gift is by far better than any of her 00s albums. I wish she gave it better treatment and uploaded all the videos from BIK onto Youtube.

FYWB, Already & Bigger are up there with the gems of her discography. Even the weakest songs (Mood 4 Eva & Nile) knock :jonny5:

The haters are working overtime, but the Hive are also standing their ground by not engaging in their pettiness and coming at them with facts and receipts only. Love that for us.

I've been paying them tired threads dust, the Queen has been enjoying her time off and I will be doing the same.

Really impressive :jonny2:I actually see it outpacing EIL in the long run (if it hasn't already). The better side project won :fan:

Spirit is also coming for 100M on Spotify, joining BSG and Already in this milestone :clap3:

I'd say Homecoming (90K) is the best indicator of what her next numbers will look like, assuming that:

• B goes all out on physical release (CD & Vinyls)

• Full week release

• if she sends entire tracks into top 10 on iTunes like Lemonade (HC didn't, remember)

• She has smash songs like Formation and Hold Up during that week (& Savage Remix)

• Netflix Promo

With all the twitter hypes and Beyonce's comeback headlines, I'd say 300-400K.

Twitter hype never translate to anything, Bey's was top trending and it also debuted <60k with The Gift.

And most of the time, top trends is just specific to the users interests.

That strategy is a bit archaic. iTunes is dead, you could sell like 100 copies and be #1 :skull: . I'd rather have her release on HBO Max than Netflix's library of bloat and Netflix is on her way to becoming the ironic Blockbuster of streaming. Bey needs Apple Music + Spotify banners Drake-style. She needs a lead single ahead of time, heavy play listing (most important), radio support, and a work around tour bundles. All of this would pretty much secure 300k.

Black Parade one of her best songs ever naur it’s true:jonnycat: it’s a shame that The Gift will remain criminally underrated:monkey:

The song and video truly a highlight of her career it deserved so much more.

Who said this was one of her best dance breaks? :jonny2:

Tik Tok clout translate better in streams/sales than Twitter hype nowadays

_________

I need fave to maintain her artistic integrity while understanding she can achieve commercial success without "selling out" well anyways, I'll stan anything if it's just as well thought out as Lem & ST

Well, we can't really predict because six years had passed since Lemonade but Savage & Homecoming did respectable numbers with all the hypes.

55K for TG tbh is still good if you look at Love For Sale, the Florence's album and Lana's album.

I can't wait for B7 but I'm also kinda nervous with all the negative receptions since EIL but Homecoming kinda gives me hope. IIRC Lemonade also did great on Spotify/ streaming during its first week of release.

Is bundle still a thing?

At the end of the day, it just needs to be timeless and an evolution from Lemonade/B5. Show a side we've never seen before as she always does with every new studio release. As for sales, I'm just hoping for 200k and that's still respectable for someone 25 years into their career. It could serve longevity if the lead is a banger.

I think there's just uncertainty given this climate, you have successful artists flopping and the most unexpected succeeded. Her side projects: TG was marketed terribly, I believe she didn't even acknowledge it on Instagram, not even a story, and we just knew about its release from some random GMA interview. It was also competing against the official Lion King soundtrack. People to this day still don't know of its release.:rip:

As for EIL, marketed terribly as well: cover featuring random dancers, it's an album as "The Carters", randomly released in London or something with few days of tracking, TIDAL exclusive for a few days as well. If it was marketed as Beyonce and Jay Z, I feel like it would have did better.

Given these circumstances, it's really hard to measure how well B7 will do bc she had everything working against her. But like you said with Savage, she just needs that HIT and she'll have a #1 single/album.

It's very fittingly post 2016 Beyonce to sign a 3 picture deal with a dying streamer though :deadbanana4: The only reason I haven't canceled mine is the possibility she could drop something any day.

B's career is truly something else.

• 1998-2003 : The Spice Girls, NSync, Janet Jackson, Madonna,Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Hilary Duff, Pink, Alicia Keys,Ashanti, JLO

• 2004-2008 : Ciara, Usher, Rihanna, Nelly Furtado, Gwen Stefani, Justin Timberlake, Fergie, Kelly Clarkson

• 2009 : Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift

• 2011 : Adele

• 2013 : Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Lorde

• 2016 : Drake, Adele (again)

B survives them all, outsold most of them. It must be nerve wrecking to be a Beyhive back then with so many artists occupying and slaying the music scene at the same time.

Glad I’m not the only one who think this

I hate all those try hard "alternative" voice that marketed themselves as heartbroken singer- songwriter.

well. harry’s house is out. Columbia’s next tentpole act.

We’ve had Adele->Rosalia->Harry…so now it’s Bey’s turn.

let the (waiting) games begin! :gaycat6:

For all of Netflix's "woes", they are still the leading and most mass reaching streamer out there. Especially internationally. A lot of us US folk don't realize that the likes of Disney+, Peacock, and HBO Max (especially) aren't actually available everywhere. Is this global economy, truly capturing the zeitgeist is to be everywhere all-at-once.

So, IMO, Netflix remains her best platform. Especially in the immediate with B7.

Personally, I've seen Netflix slammed before only to silence over and over with culture-shaking shows and movies that EVERYONE still rushes to watch. But even if they were on the outs, she could rush-release her third visual "something: and be done with it. If it became a case of buying herself out or a rival studio doing that to release it, it's much easier to do with one-project left than several. In short, there are options.

An HBO Max or D+ release would definitely be more critically acclaimed, Netflix not only is losing ground but also is increasingly perceived in a negative light

My perspective as a UK-born stan living in Asia right now is that globally Netflix and Disney are the only ones that matter currently. And selfishly I want it on them since I have access to them :toofunny3: I think it wouldn’t affect her negatively even if Netflix isn’t viewed in a good light anymore. People will still rush to watch if the marketing is on point.

Maybe, but I'd take more exposure/eyeballs than "critical acclaim" when her most critically acclaimed body of work (Lemonade) still got snubbed during award season anyway.
