i think we have solid evidence that it was going to be a film 

I want Meg on act ii and act iii. she'd fit rock well and she definitely should be featured on a southern/country album

Girl where is the announcement for VOD of the RENAISSANCE film? It came out nearly two months ago. Taylor Swift | THE ERAS TOUR was roughly released two months after its cinematic debut. I just can’t with how mismanaged [it seems] Beyoncé has become. There has been a misstep with every release during this era:

 

- “BREAK MY SOUL” being released on a Tuesday with an all blacked out cover with subpar font, no music video, pulled from radio stations, two visualizers literally months later, etc.

 

- “CUFF IT” going insanely viral on social media with again, no music video, a remix released months later after the original version peaked

 

- Missing the opportunity to give a proper radio add date and promo for “AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM” after that started gaining traction on TikTok

 

- Going and staying radio silent on rumored visuals for the album

 

- Barely promoting the tour other than one post with no caption just reading “RENAISSANCE    WORLD TOUR” with no further info (but it was super successful, but still)

 

- Terrible promo for the movie; she could’ve promoted in other metro areas other than NYC, London and France

 

I just feel like this whole era has been sabotaged by Beyoncé ever since the release of “BREAK MY SOUL,” which could’ve been an even bigger hit. And no shade to her team or Parkwood, but it’s time for us to step into the 22nd century and maybe consult with Taylor Nation on how to do social media right. Idk. It’s just that time of the month again when I air out my renny issues, but, I’ll be back to stanning the album after I press ‘Submit Reply’.

I want minimal features and no big names like Renaissance. (Don't come for me about Grace Jones, I mean commercially big names.)

 

That said, I wouldn't hate a Lenny Kravitz feature on a rock album. Even if he's just playing guitar.

Same. After Lemonade was 1/3 features and then The Carters / The Gift, it was refreshing to have an album that's practically all Bey.

We could make a list like this that dates back to the early days of 2013 though, nearly a year before ST was even released, and it would be populated with example after example of her skirting chart success in favour of letting the work do whatever it's going to do without carefully or even officially releasing things, without promotional manipulations or schemes or maximizing of success (like say, releasing an album track featuring Drake or Weeknd as a single).

 

At some point, we all just have to come to terms with the fact that she's not playing anyone's game anymore, and barely playing her own.

 

I'm glad to hear when you press "Submit Reply" that you'll stan again, which shows truly at the end of the day the product is more important than the popularity...the work is what matters and we are one of the few stan bases that time and time again are spoiled with quality. We may be upset and sad we don't get the rest, but truly what is more important to a popstar's current and longterm relevance than quality?

February is when we should get a streaming/DVD release. Theaters didn't stop showing it until a few days ago.

I think Bey surrounds herself with yes people. You’d prob be fired if you told her how some things should go. The era could’ve had 4 proper singles by the time the tour ended.

Hmmm We will never know I guess. But I remember back when Jay and Kanye were friends they both had really strong opinions against radio (specially pop radio being racist and having to pay to be played) and she probably thinks the same.

I’m currently in my final year of university studying Media and Communications. As part of my final year I need to do a dissertation. This is basically a 12,000 word research report on a topic related to my field of study. I’ve chosen to do mine on fan loyalty and artist image between two of the biggest names in Pop music in recent years – Beyoncé and Taylor Swift. Both are major Pop icons with hyperactive fanbases, which makes them suitable for my research. 

 

As part of my research I’ve chosen to do a questionnaire. This will allow me to get a better understanding of the dynamics between each artist and their respective fanbase. The majority of the questions are multiple choice, with a few open-ended as well. It should only really take 5 minutes to complete.

Would Renaissance be the first album by an act who debuted before 2005 to have every track cross 100m on Spotify? I know Arctic Monkeys did it with AM, but their first single came out in 2005 and their first album in 2006. Taylor did it with several albums, but she debuted in 2006. 

 

I've checked some classics that might have made it but they all have some tracks that have lower streams: Thriller, Rumours, Nevermind... I think the closest to achieve it is Eminem's Kamikaze, but I think Renaissance might make it before it.

But they haven't resurfaced, we have the link to the instagram post from 2022 when they were originally posted.

 

I think the reason nobody picked up on them at the time is because we had already had some footage of this shoot so people didn't think much of it.
