Renaissance was such an EPIC era from the music to the tour, like I can't believe she actually gave the dance pop perfection album that gays had wanted from her all along, "Cuff It" is one of her all time great singles, the tour was life-changing. I can take Act II or whatever not happening.

The only black female legendary artists that truly have embraced and love Bey DOWN were Mariah, Diana, and Aretha imo. Even Rih to an extent has sumn against Bey and idek what it is lmao. But it lowkey makes sense with them ngl 

 

But I never really count on the black community to defend Bey tbfh. Only the Black Gays pull through for her, which I LOOVVEEE because that’s really all she needs anyways.

Because Beyonce wants to be known for her voice and to this day people still say she’s an entertainer not a singer. But I also put blame on Beyonce for not singing that many vocally challenging songs post 4. The geepee sees her as a talk singer that can occasionally growl.

Rihannna is a confusing one and I especially side eyed her when she “accidentally” liked a post from a navy during Grammys season 2017. But then she went to Coachella the next year and was stanning on her instagram stories. She’s shown a bit of love here and there since then. But hmmm yeah there’s definitely something because Beyonce was one of her faves when she was starting out she’d always name drop her in interviews. I think the media pitting them, Jay z rumors, Rihanna slaying the charts while Bey singing bow down *****, and their clashing personalities is why they are friendly coworkers but not actual friends. If Jay wasn’t in the picture she’d probably fully turn on Bey tbh.

I agree and disagree. I do think she focused a lot more on her backgrounds and lower register in the last decade, which makes sense given the change in her tessitura with age. But watch anybody sing Deja Vu or Love on Top on a talent show and see how challenging her **** is to sing. Bey songs tend to challenge in a more technical way and unless you’re wailing on some slower down tempo track like MJB or Adele (no shade) the people will say you’re good but not great.

The way people get upset nowadays over IG likes.

Bey has many, many vocally challenging songs post 4. It's not her fault the GP thinks loud = good.

Every encounter with Bey ever since Good Girl Gone Bad has been awkward. Even Bey's Larry King interview was so bad. Even their picture at that Vanity Fair thing. Even their picture at the Tidal signing party. They seem to have only mellowed out on each other when Rihanna got with ASAP Rocky and settled down.

I love adele, but that comparison makes me laugh considering Beyoncé never had to stop a live performance on tv because she was singing badly.

THIISSSS! I’m so glad you said it too! And the whole flashing personalities thing agh! Because you’re right! Even with their energies you can tell they have total opposite vibes. Especially with Rihanna stanning one second, but then another second having this weird vibe with Bey. I’ve alwayssss wanted to know what the beef was, and also why they’ve never collabed together either. Even Whitney and Mariah did at one point! And their beef/fued was a lot more palpable than Beyonce and Rihanna’s
