Many of the "bridges/breakdowns/second parts of songs" that were completely different concepts spliced into other songs for Self-Titled actually appeared on ASCAP early, if I remember correctly.

(Still not sure what registered James Fauntleroy demo her rap verse in "No Angel" comes from, but we'll figure it out eventually)

She changed it in the same way she used to update her bio with the cities in which she toured.

Christmas Day is actually a big day for movies in the US. It's marketed as a "family outing" and several films open on or near Christmas Day for that reason (and to be eligible for the following year's Oscars). The Color Purple is the big one opening today here. Next year, I think we'll have the Wicked movie musical? Or is that Christmas 2025?

 

Plus, workers usually tend to get overtime on Christmas, so it's a shift a lot of people want to pick up (see: no shortage of employees when you pay them well enough. take that, fast food chains!)

 

My theater is showing Renaissance once today in the late afternoon. They have 9 screenings for The Color Purple and American Fiction and 8 for Aquaman.
