But it's cool that she switches it off too, no? I like the new color tbh.

I want her to go with some other colors once in a while : green or blue would be cute. Just for a short while.

What did the Paris' hair look like again, I forgot?

Only for a music video scene but I hate when she goes out like that it's not flattering irl

:suburban:

Oh and Paris looked like perfection

I said Paris because I've been watching a lot of videos from that show lately so it's the first thing that came to mind but it's most probably the same wig she used for the start of the tour for multiple dates. I think Barcelona is when she started changing it up.

But yeah this is easily her best look tour ever in terms of hair & makeup imo.

She’s not changing her hair soon, Neal is vacationing.

Thanks to you both. That hair was indeed very beautiful. The curls were popping.

Well, she released 4 during the peak of EDM-pop on radio and all the singles from 4 didn’t fit into the musical landscape at the time (and the singles suffered from this), so clearly this woman doesn’t care about what’s trending currently, in fact I would say she purposely goes against it just to prove a point

While I agree with the idea that Bey sometimes goes against the grain, I feel we sometimes overstate how much this is the case.

Sis was **hunting** for that hit with 4. Yes, RTW wasn’t EDM but it definitely has tempo and was meant for the club. When that didn’t work, they rush-released BTINH…which was still very on-trend in the grand scheme of Stargate-flavored mid tempo hits at the time.

I’ll give you that she doubled down on R&B at a time the girls were drenched in EDM. But at the same time, it’s not like R&B (especially Pop leaning R&B) was “dead” in 2011. Bey was essentially staying loyal to her own established lane with 4 (while also pushing for hits within it). Which in many regards is way safer than putting out a “Rock” or “Rock-adjacent” album now.

I cannot name a single Rock leaning song getting played on mainstream radio now or dominating streaming playlists now. Add to that the fact that even though Bey has Urban/R&B radio on lock, they’re unlikely to push a Rock-ish track (like 6 Inch or Don’t Hurt Yourself) either.

So, I say this to say, if it’s a venture she does go down, I hope they read the room and find a clever way to market it that lives outside the confines of the conventional e.g. do it under an alias (Betty Black) or a soundtrack side  album (ala The Gift), or declare there will be no serviced singles and peddle the idea that it’s best consumed whole.

All extra af, but all of which I’d totally be here for. Because, as a Chart Hive who is really dialled into the importance of what songs like Cuff It and BMS do for her GP pull (which she *needs* for tour gross, album sales, and contemporary relevance), a “Rock album” is gonna need to be *worked* slightly differently to stand a chance. And much of that will rest on its marketing.

I’d love for it to be as simple as her just dropping it and it slaying. And in a way, I’d love to be proven wrong with that happening, but I think we’ve all witnessed the usual “Pop girl does x genre for her latest transformation trick”. Even when it works, it often comes across contrived. So, IMO, for Bey it’ll all rest on the “story” (which, like Rennie, can loosely be about reclaiming Black genres) and how it’s presented to her largely non-Rock audience.

Technically Rocket on its own but if you do POTS + VG (which is usually how I listen to POTS) then that's a heavenly experience which Rocket cannot compete with

^ Working to push your songs is normal. Releasing the most favorable song to get a hit is more than normal but it doesn't erase the fact that with 4, she went against the grain. All popular black artists at the time were EDM : Usher leading the pack. Even MJB had EDM songs at that time and Alicia went almost full pop. It was tough for RnB artists. Even the writers were not even getting enough proposition.

But Beyoncé is Beyoncé, if she would make the album that her creative guts tell her to make (Rock, country or whatever) and let someone with commercial ear/ears for hits pick the most friendly song in the album, she would smash.

As a matter of fact, 4 lead with EOT or even Countdown would have smashed.

Also I disagree with the stance that 6Inch, DHY and Daddy Lessons didn't do anything.

POTS is a really cute song with a nice melody but the only useful part is the godly VG transition, the rest could be kicked. she made that song only to shut the old & whiny r&b stans up

Rocket’s nonsensical, long ass outro alone >>>> Snoozing On The Sofa

I remember beylegion tweeted “legion is feeling cozy” and changed their profile pic to include the word cozy before Renaissance came out but I think after the track list was revealed. It made me think cozy would be the next single or some interesting track but no one (but me) liked it until the tour. They’re hit or miss

Yvette was just spotted in Brazil, why are they adding salt to injury :rip:
