I really appreciate both of these takes because they basically speak to both sides of my stance on the status of the visuals.

Stripping away all emotion and disappointment about the lack of visuals to date (which is 98% of the discourse around them from most), two things are apparent:

* The literal data/history we have supports the reality that Bey doesn't "scrap" things. Her release dates stick, her releases aren't "messy" (conventionally speaking) and she delivers on her word. She's very fiscally minded, so I'd lean more towards her pumping more $$$ into making the visuals of life (and recouping by selling it to a streamer) than losing $$$ on something that never sees the light of day.

BUT...

* She's been really verbatim about being in a new season of life. One that is less work, more freedom. Plus, there's a first time for everything, including her scrapping ish.

For now, though, I'm more inclined to believe she won't scrap the visuals. She speaks a lot about "time" in the movie and I wonder aloud if taking her time rather than rushing to tick-box expectations is now part of her mode of operation.

Beyoncé isn’t above scrapping things…and basing it on the past isn’t helpful since she can change her mind on things ya know.

As people have pointed out, She scrapped FWT release for example.

The more time passes, the less it makes sense to release these visuals. I’d love to be wrong, but literally what’s the point of releasing visuals for a 1.5 year old album where the tour has ended and having just released a theatrical concert film? Unless she decides to release it as a gift for fans for free or something literally there’s no hype or point anymore, she lost that opportunity. Only hardcore fans still care and I think she knows that.

Doesn't nearly every streaming service show on ROKU? :rip:

Of course they would just show it in theatres and let it rot afterwards. Ever since 2013, they are doing EVERYTHING they can to kill longevity.

Bey has been all about longevity, but now its literally all about killing momentum. Jesus christ

whilst music videos are typically used to promote a song/album/product, it doesn’t mean they can’t be made or released for the sake of creating art. not everything has to be linked with selling the product.

Did anyone try the second week drop? I thought the second week drop was lovely

:clack:

You’d think they’d want to entice fans with hints of more goodies incoming instead of consistently bursting bubbles and crushing hopes

America Has a Problem would be perfect for GTA 6.

Maybe it's the "perfectionist" side of her not liking the film after rushing it to the theaters. That also has to be why she scrubs every live performance post 2013 off the internet besides the pre-recorded probably rehearsed several million times & spliced together Oscars Be Alive performance.

I really want to see the movie a second time and dance in my seat this time but I have PTSD from getting covid? (or the common cold idk my tests were inconclusive) the day after I saw the film. I rarely go to the movies and of course the one time I do I get sick all week.

Isn't Freedom basically confirmed for GTA 6? I remember it and something called Wade in the Water leaking as part of the soundtrack, but I'm pretty sure Wade in the Water is actually just Freedom and someone mixed it up because they heard the lyric "I'm gonna wade through the water" and thought that was the title.

Why do they have all these pro black anthems if the two main characters aren't black? This list is probably outdated

Well they need to put her on the white radio because that radio won't get her the streams we need.

we’re never seeing that damn film again are we ? :clack:

Considering Lemonade film was kind of flopped on HBO, Renaissance film was a huge success since she's probably earned more than its budget. Renaissance also had hits and longevity on charts.

Ugh, lemme go ahead and go one more time tomorrow, just in case they decide to make another foolish decision.

It "flopped" because HBO was exclusive to the US back then and the only proper streaming service was Netflix. :michael:

Her getting the film name wrong and it just being a notes app screenshot makes it ten times worse. @Beyonce, FIRE HER!

I just don't get this exclusivity thing and her messy rollout. REN film was released on later dates in certain countries as well.

Ch... How does she not know the name of the movie? And why adress that? Does that mean no streaming?

I'm getting the impression that Parkwood are not pleased with the box office numbers for this film. Yvette's sudden response about something not even really offensive seems a bit much.  After this reponse, it's also pretty clear Bey is not sending this film to streaming. I think she will keep it a unique experience. The numbers to me seem fine for this time of year especially for a documentary because people knew from the trailers it would be heavy with behind the scenes stuff and that didn't excite many clearly. I still think if she released the entire concert with no editing it would have done better numbers. This documentary should have been sent to Netflix and included the visuals and behind the tour stuff about how the album came to be.
