Great!

Can someone clue me up about how film numbers and charting work?

I know the opening weekend is super important, but does the full week matter too? Kinda like album sales?

I'm kinda dialed into the numbers and find the "Business of Beyonce" pretty fascinating.

This is definitely shaping up to be a profit-making exercise when thinking about the strong US launch, the overseas numbers, and the likely streaming release.

I'm just tryna ascertain how big the win will be?

Like, what will be a good final number for her domestic and global?

I think the current opening numbers in the US already make this worth it - both numbers and legacy wise. I'd say she probably already made all the money she spent on the movie with the US weekend numbers, anything besides this is a plus financially speaking.

Legacy wise, this is also a great move since the movie is just so well done and the bts feel genuine, yet show what kind of superwoman Bey is. I think word of mouth will carry this. I mean 100% on Rotten Tomatoes kinda speaks for itself

Blue Ivy will be such a star. She has true charisma and a mix of both Bey and Jay in swag. I cant wait to see what this beautiful girl will do in the future.  She was a HUGE part of this movie. Lot of focus on her.

God, I can't even breathe. I teared up several and I mean SEVERAL times.

Thing is, I never went to any of her concerts in person, but today I finally had the opportunity to support her the way she has supported me mentally and emotionally through her art, and I am so deeply grateful to be alive at the same time she is. The universe knew what it was doing, putting me on this earth during this specific time period.

From the first note of DIL I started bawling, but I had a serious mental shift happen with Flaws and All, a song I never really cared for before but has now become a top 5 even top 3 song of hers for me, legit something happened to my brain chemistry during it, it sounded and looked and FELT so good that I knew something I have never experienced before was about to take place and that it did, It really freaking did! I had a serious 2 and half hour escape from the world just like she wanted and asked for, and as the film kept going I dreaded the upcoming ending, it was really and truly THAT good.

I wish this base's hive weren't so cynical sometimes, like I don't care for my house either, but in that theater it felt euphoric just like every other hymn of hers. I think all of us in general just need to accept her as she presents herself to us, that is in my opinion the best way that you can enjoy her.

Anyways 5/5 10/10 100000000000/100000000000

I feel rejuvenated and cleansed, and I am currently fighting my biggest demons and opp (my brokeness) to not get another ticket IMMEDIATELY and re-experience this core memory of mine.

I love you Beyoncé, i really truly do.

Interesting insights!

I'm really eager to see the full week numbers, not just for the US but globally.

IIRC, an article I read about Taylor's deal put these AMC deals at something like 60% of the ticket sales going direct to the artist.

Knowing that this probably didn't cost Bey "that" much to make, she stands to make a really tidy profit if the movie ends up anywhere between $40-60 million in global gross.

Whether she goes the streaming route or on-demand route Taylor just announced, both approaches also equal more = $$$ for this largely self-directed, edited, etc concert film.

In hindsight, the relatively low production cost for this film actually makes the theatrical route make the most sense. Something I must admit I wasn't so sure of initially (as I felt it should have been reserved for the visuals).

Spending $5 million (for example) and making upwards of $20 million in profit is a touchdown.

Whereas, the elusive "visuals" undoubtedly have cost her a lot more to make, thus creating the literal need for a big check to cover costs and make a profit. Which is probably why a streaming deal (which guarantees her fixed figure/profitability from the jump and doesn't put her numbers/performance on front street) is her desired route.

Just thinking aloud, but the more I think the more "aspects" of the concert film / where are the visuals scenario became easier to rationalize.

Also..

Spoiler

Call me delulu, but I STILL think the "visuals" are coming in some capacity. Be that a joint visual with act 2 or some sort of surprise drop on streaming. The fact many of the interludes from the tour (which were clearly part of the visual shoots) were edited out of the concert film makes me feel she doesn't want to preempt that content with this venture.

Being an avid analyst of her business antics, I really struggle to believe the visuals are "totally" scrapped. In all her decades of dominance, she never been a "scrapped" kinda girl.

There's a first time for everything and maybe these concert film profits will help offset the losses of the $$$ spent on the visuals if they are indeed scrapped.

This definitely did not happen. :lmao:

Her tour is over. And Beyoncé not following Israel like that.

Don't know if it's already been posted in here, but the standard edition of B'Day is finally available on US Apple Music. The sequencing of the deluxe edition is atrocious.

yea that’s obviously fake lol bey isn’t holding any concerts and why would she give it to some random girl from #that conflict (no offence)

those photos are old, lol. they are from the batch she dropped on beyonce.com when the I'M THAT GIRL teaser was released.

This is why I was so against those fan accounts and their FAKE activist antics.

Now Bey is in the middle of something that doesn’t involve her.

Some of these fans don’t deserve her. I swear.

i legit want to call out of work & go back to the theater right now. :jonny6:

the theater was the best way to re-live the concert but this is why streaming is GOAT b/c I could've already been watching it & replaying my favorite parts.

Ok, read the article, so basically this is the story:

Thomas Hand, Emily's father, recounted in an interview that when she was finally reunited with him, her first request was simple: she wanted to listen to Beyoncé's music.

He shared this story in an interview with CNN after her emotional release, following a nerve-wracking wait during which he believed she was dead, only to find out she was alive and kidnapped by Hamas.

Content creator Yarden Mainfield Dizengoff revealed in a video that after hearing Emily's father's interview, she approached Israeli producer Danny A., who reached out to a mutual acquaintance of his and Beyoncé.

The response was that Emily has a ticket to any Beyoncé show, anywhere, whenever she wants. Danny A. explained in a conversation with Mako about the connection made to fulfill Emily's dream: "I called a good friend of mine and Beyoncé’s and told him about the request. He said that at the next show, she would get tickets. No matter when and where she performs. Even if the show is 'sold out.'”

There’s nothing to suggest Bey’s involvement. It’s just friends setting Emily up to attend a next concert.

I’m glad the little girl is free. And that Beyoncé’s music brings everyone joy. But let’s not spread rumors.

This movie is the smartest and most important move for beyonce career right now. ESP as a director. She is establishing herself as a an auteur and a force to be reckoned with. Her next thing is to direct a movie. This is the barbra Streisand route and i am so happy for her.

Sorry y’all. We’re cooked. I was hoping for the drama to stay contained to the bitter, joyless, and ugly part of Twitter.

But the official Israel account just posted this

I just want one era where I’m not caught on the defensive. :jonny5:
