Why cant people enjoy a Beyoncé song anymore without the chart obsession, or the meaning behind the lyrics? I'm just curious because it's kinda getting weird. If she doesn't want to release a video, y'all wont enjoy the song anymore? what if she releases the video next week? then it will be another 30 pages of ''what could have been if she released the video right away''? like...

Well technically there was no official announcement for the single, right? She just changed her insta bio  That’s why i think there’s still a possibility that the music video could be dropping tonight. BUT i don’t wanna look like boo boo the fool so i’m just gonna keep enjoying the song and not worry about their rollout plan…

yes...its very overdramatic...its been 2 days. like...take a chill pill.

 

i'm glad these people are not on Beyonce's team...what would a video have done for 3 days tracking when we already know its not going Top 5 this week b/c of the circumstances? the video would already be out & then what else would be talking about today or next week?

 

like listen to the song & relax....release ya stress! if it comes tomorrow or she decide next Monday or album week...everybody will be just fine

I feel like she will keep post an Instagram bio announcement when they’re about to drop the video. I’m really not seeing anything coming tonight and no bet awards or James Borden

The way I keep refreshing her insta to hopefully see some crumbs in her bio.

Thinking back to how iconic Formation's video drop was (still my all time favourite with a few Gift songs sprinkled in) is making me desperate for this video.

It's possible she was not even planning to release BMS as single and she just did it last minute. She is known to change her mind like that when it comes to releasing stuff, like maybe the music video is not done. If the video is another Crazy in love or Single ladies type of slay, who cares when she releases, it's going to smash anyway!

Charts aside of course we will love it whenever it comes. It's okay for fans to want a visual from the visual chanteuse herself though! The hype over the past week + has been so enjoyable, so naturally we'd wanna keep that going.

I don't think it's too farfetched or pessimistic in any way for fans to expect more fanfare or engagement now that we've gotten a taste with the new single. Based alone on what her team has hinted subtly, this could be the most immersive album era Beyoncé has had in a long time, versus just mass-releasing all content at once and being largely reclusive for most of the time following. The longevity of her last few album cycles conspicuously suffered because of it.

 

Fans are just expecting iron to be struck while it's hot --- something to keep them engaged. Charts aside, who wants to experience something belatedly that's now dated and lost its novelty?

I don’t think that this was a last minute decision at all. The way she announced the album on a full moon, album coming out on a new moon and lead single dropping on the Summer Solstice… And the song that contains ‘Bey is back’ line is the perfect lead single material. Clearly they thought this whole thing through. I think that’s one of the reasons why people are anxious about the timing of the music video because almost everything has been perfect this time. I personally dgaf about the numbers and charts and all that stuff but i can see why people care, especially after seeing how hundreds of Liddos were perched for the first day numbers 

I agree about the last part of your post tho, i know the MV is gonna give me my entire existence of LIFE whenever it drops  Can’t wait to see her vision for this and still can’t believe that this is actually a Beyoncé song!!!

Welcome to stan culture lol. Charts are worthy of conversation and they are the easiest way for a stan base to get bragging rights. See all 100 of the Bey vs Gaga threads this week. The chart convo won’t stop till a few months after the album release 

No one even mentioned charts, fans are just hoping for the video because videos are now released on Friday and to see people try to recreate it and most importantly because we are super excited and cant wait. That is literally what it is to be a fan. If you can wait for weeks, good for you, go do that.

I personally want the video now so there’s a chance to have another in 5 weeks when the album drops. 5 weeks between videos isnt even enough space tbh but here’s to hoping

It was definitely not a last minute thing. The designer that created the hat just posted. They made the hat for the single cover. Clearly everything has been thought through.  I think the radio silence since Monday is starting to get to us.

Also her webstore needs to be updated

Right! The video is where she excels plus this song just lends itself to intense choreo. There are so many dissectible parts to this song and I can only imagine how good the visuals will be. Plus, like you said, I want to see people posting their takes on the dances, I want it all over my social media feeds. This is why we all stan right? To be consumed by her art. I want the full picture.
