I agree that Partition/Savage could’ve been cut too but Megan came and saved that little section 

when the tour started and she cut back on heavy dancing seemingly at the advantage of live singing, it was "why isn't she dancing?" now that certain ballads are cut it's "how will anyone ever know she's a good singer?!"

She's not cutting flaws and all....that a song she literally dedicates to the fans that TRULY love her in the show. 

 

Apart from love on top, i am fine with everything she cut. Glad majority of renee made it. Its called the renaissance film after all.

I love documentary footage! I love behind the scenes! But preferably when it's accessible by pressing the menu button on my remote at any time! Not when it's stopping a concert's momentum dead in its tracks

 

I don’t agree with cutting ANY of the opening act on principle. But I’m not super bothered cause we have better performances of both I Care and 1+1.

 

If I’m being real, she was dodging a lot of notes for I Care. Though, the new instrumental more than made up for it. Also, 1+1/Beautiful Ones > 1+1/I’m Goin’ Down

I get that she probably wanted all of Rennie in but Fallenandcantgetup Off the Sofa should’ve been cut in favor of Love on Top and I Care. 

Most of my friends who are casual fans of Bey thought that the ballad section dragged on a bit and that DIL and Flaws and All were the highlights of that section, so it seems Team Bey made the right decision.

Absoluty agree. We have better performances of these songs already

I’m strictly watching this film to see bey with no makeup wearing a big ass hoodie, and I want to see Blue eat her mother up live on a big screen that’s all I care about. She’s including all the Rennie songs and that’s all that matters

 

I want to see her personality more than the tour which I already got to see

 

Is Loop the sample in the movie? That's all i need

Every review has pointed that that’s the heart of the film, more than the concert itself; and that it works. I’d wait to see it before making assumptions.

It's not worth-arguing at this point when you're supporting your views with a mere "great gowns, beautiful gowns" while I was referring to technicalities such as the call and response with the guitarrist. It is what it is.

I don't doubt I'll be interested and entertained by those parts, and as Shoulders already said, I welcome any glimpse into her inner sanctum. But if I'm ever itching to "relive" my concert experience, I'm gonna be pressed at their forced inclusion. For instance Homecoming is a fine package in and of itself but the replay factor was lessened by the documentary parts. imo

Variety posted the setlist and she moved River Deep/Mountain High before Diana's appearance, presumably because she's discussing her idols and what they went through so it works thematically. 

 

LOT is a no brainer. The crowd ruins it every night. It had no place to be in the film. A highlight during the show though. Just like the ballads! But they suck when you’re watching the live footage. I didn’t even realize that I was skipping some songs until it was too late. For every video, I just go straight to the 23min mark, catch the end of I Care to see her dress and then the real show begins. It all felt very natural

 

I can’t wait until we get back to full length complete concert releases like TBE, IAY, etc. No crazy editing or documentary crap taking up space from songs.
