It's down bad for me.

Have not listened to the album properly in quite a while and decided to put it on today while working. All that came to my mind is how infuriating it is that we don't have videos and imagining what they could be and how enjoyable it would be to have them. I couldn't even properly focus on and appreciate the music. Her teasing them, making us anticipate, thinking something must be around the corner for a ******* year and a half has been such an unsatisfactory journey.

What was something mildly irritating and upsetting at first has now developed into a real frustration for me.

I'm not even saying this to be funny & extra or to get some kiis, but she really managed to sour my experience with her music and the way I interact with it. I know I shouldn't care this much, but I do, and I can't help it. I do not anticipate nor feel excited about new music from her at all anymore, really.

I'm looking forward the tour film and know I will enjoy the live versions because I'll be able to associate them with the visual of the performances. But outside of that, she could retire tomorrow and I'll be glad .

oof, I’m not really frustrated with her in the same way (more just annoyed), but I’ve been there with other artists before so I feel you :gaycat7:

always sucks to be in that headspace with a fave

I sort of guessed like everyone else that would be the case with the tour starting, but it obviously wasn’t. I work in touring/talent development, not on the label side, so I could only give you that tea.

Gotcha. That makes sense. Appreciate all of the tea :heart2:

2 weeks till the movie and I am almost certain it will have no visuals lol. I'd like at least a video of Break My Soul.

Same tbh. I almost regret buying the tickets to see the docu. I honestly just don't care about her that much. Its not like she's giving a lot anyway. Shes honestly riding on that "hardest worker in the industry" reputation. As a fan, I dont see how shes working more than Dua, Billie, Gaga, Taylor, etc.. I just dont

"I worked 2 years on the fragrance" is a wonderful example of that. She didn't "work" on that. She hired people to do their Jobs, set deadlines, smelled a few of the ideas, said yes or no, set new deadlines, and thats about it. Lets be for real here

I absolutely think she's riding the fact that she's worked very hard since she was about 8 to be where she's at, and as she should. In many ways she's earned it. None of those mentioned worked like Beyoncé did and so consistently from 1997-2011. And not one of them has paid the attention to detail, taken the risks and focused on artistry as she has since 2012.

Last year she released perhaps the best album of her career. She just went on perhaps the best tour of her career. She's released three of the best remixes of her career. In a few weeks we may see if she's made the best tour film/documentary of her career. As a fan, this level of quality output so late into her career should be exciting. How many other pop legends are at their creative/artistic peak 20 years from their debut? This is exciting for me. This keeps it interesting: the fact that what we do get from her is worthy of the lack of other things.

As fans, her outdoing herself should outweigh the fact that we don't yet have much videos or televised performances or whatever. There's a lot we don't have in terms of fan service and I'd like it too, but at some point we all have to either come to terms with the fact that we aren't getting it (and if we do, yay!) or put our money where our mouth is and actually un-stan if it's such an issue. It seems like every week someone is vowing to no longer stan her, only to still be in this base ready to agree with the next person who says the same thing.

Dua and Billie are not even 10 years in their careers, Taylor is riding the wave of her peak. But what is Gaga doing over Bey? What is Ariana doing over Bey? What is Rihanna doing over Bey? Just like Bey they are doing the bare minimum and working on their brands (Fenty Beauty, Savage x Fenty, Haus Labs, REM Beauty) because that gives them more money than music. There’s no money to be made in music outside of touring, and we’re lucky she’s one of the greatest touring artists and that makes her a lot of money because otherwise she would cut that too.

I’m sorry to say but the industry has changed. Dua herself has already said that she promoted a lot for her first era and that she did not intend in doing that again (something Bey only said after 4). Miley and Adele said they don’t like touring. Doja kind of hates her fans. And none of those has worked half as hard as Bey did.

The only one caring about fan experience is Taylor and it’s because she just likes that kind of attention, Bey has never liked that.

Absolutely rational take. I honestly just expect her team to do better and her to put more effort into making the era experience more fun for us. She, for all I care, doesnt even need to leave her airport-looking mansion.

But what do we get? "You are the visuals, baby" and Parkwood ridiculing our excitement. Its just reads in very, very poor taste seeing how we are the ones who gave her all the privilege

Giving us the gayest album shes ever done and treating it like that? No mam

the way this song makes me want a man and not just in a sexual way

this is a good take but tbf at least Gaga still does award shows, a lot less than in her early career sure but she would NEVER not perform at the grammys when being nominated for something, let alone AOTY. C*roma*ica got an award show medley, 3 music videos, multiple singles, written and spoken interviews, multiple magazine covers, a planned surprise Coachella performance and a planned concert film… we didn’t even get a quarter of that :deadbanana2:and don’t come with the "gaga’s not a mother" bs the girl’s pushing 40 and basically crippled since her sophomore era

all the girls became lazy, old & new, and do everything but music but at least they still give their fans the basics : a few award show performances, a few interviews / magazine covers, mvs and decent promo (like more than 1 & half singles and a vogue cover)… we don’t even get that anymore and that’s like the BASIC pillars of an era, even these days

don’t get it twisted i’ll ALWAYS take Bey’s way of doing things if it means we get the quality albums, tours and visuals she provides over anything the other girls are doing but damn give us at least the basics… cause even when she decides to give us the basics she does like half of the basic required minimum and then goes on vacation for a year :stare:

This. She made an album catering to the one demographic that most appreciates content and interaction and proceeded to give us neither. On purpose. Beyonce DAMIEN Knowles you will never see heaven!

We got multiple singles, magazine covers, written intervies a better tour and a better album, and a concert film, and a planned visual album and three act project. I think we kinda won in the planned things that never happened department.

 :suburban:

not the mother-off going on

they both get on my nerves by focusing on pushing products instead of the actual content they tease and promise

although at least Neck is actually releasing her tour film this time instead of letting it hide on a hard drive. Nose needs to catch up there

:suburban:

Well, maybe there IS something going on that we don't know about that explains what happened with the era and I'd be willing to let her express it in the documentary if my country was in the "participating territories". But it's not, so don't stop the complaining.

1 single and one that had to be forced out of her (and came way too late) while every other song was left rotting is hardly multiple singles :suburban:

and i obviously mean written interviews that feature HER, not some random guy or mama tina:suburban:

What are we complaining about today?

-She’s lazy?

-She’s exhibiting hag-like behavior?

-She’s serving a homophobic era for her gayest album?

-The lack of promo?

-The stinky expensive monolithic perfume?

-Album rankings?

-Jlo?

What else am I missing

the second single was not forced out of her, she was ready to release one but the CHOICE of which single was forced out of her.

do we ever stop to realize had she released SUMMER RENAISSANCE or CHURCH GIRL as the second single like she wanted to, they'd probably flop and then maybe she'd have needed to start promoting or release a video or perform at an awards show?

But no, the Hive wanted what THEY wanted, and we got CUFF IT which was generic enough to be a huge hit without any push and squashed any real need for Beyoncé to do anything more than announce CUFF IT season via instagram stories.

The way I’ve been thinking about this for the last two years :rip: Even though Chrome might not be as good/polished as Rennie and she did disappear before the year ended, we still got more from her content wise, tour and all.
