It's embarrassing watching Hive tweet and fall over themselves to sing Bey's praises for how much money she's making. I celebrate she has the highest grossing tour as a Black woman because that truly means something. But I saw someone adding up her revenue from Ivy Park, Dubai, etc, and praising how she's nearly made a billion in revenue in one year and it's just like.... so out of touch and sycophantic.

no it's true! this is for all fan bases really, like those celebrating a $200M+ AMC box office projection too. I think it's cool to celebrate her making history as the highest grossing woman/Black artist/American etc. and all that, but I don't get celebrating the gross itself and I would never post about it on my social media accounts. couldn't care less how much wealth she's hoarding beyond what she already has.

 

not to mention, that $1B is gross revenue and she has many mouths to feed (including the IRS ).

Mariah you can drag because she's absolutely ridiculous, but my other faves? If you can't appreciate them or are against them then you're not my people and I will actively root for your demise.

Twitter hive kills me with how much value things like this and how some of the fan account argue with everyone but I’m just old I guess.

 

I don’t want to be that corny person that’s like “omg you don’t like beyonce??? But she’s queen bae!1!1!1” Those kinds of people are haters to me I’m sorry you’re setting my girl up.

 

But trust I will argue down if they try to come for her or say she’s overrated, because don’t get me started. I got in an argument with one of my coworkers last week because I turned off their pandora which was playing #that girl’s discography out loud throughout the entire vet clinic. It’s bad enough that I have to hear wailing cats and dogs let’s not add another noise! Let’s listen to real vocals

 

Also the “she’s building generational wealth!” thing makes me kii cause she doesn’t need a BILLION DOLLARS to take care of her great-great-grand kids and NONE of that money is leaving her immediate family.

And about the twitter hive boasting about numbers I think people forget how expensive a tour is. All the crew involved has to get paid, on top of that the budget to produce the show takes out a huge chunk, plus paying the stadiums, hotel and flights for every worker that travels from show to show, truckers, etc. multiple stages so they can be set up in two different locations at the same time. Beyoncé isn’t taking home nothing close to half a billion. But regardless that money is earned. If you sell a product (yourself) and people eat it up then naturally you will make tons of money from it, I don’t see the problem. When I HAD twitter I only talked numbers cause I was sick of certain stans using billboard to drag her. The ONE thing the hive can stand on ten toes down is that she outsells 99% of y’all’s faves in tour sales by a LOT. It’s all we got when we get into petty stan arguments.
