This is kind of a reach.

She's obviously hiding the visuals in her stomach.

Doesn't mean she's pregnant.

Come on now.

I have a trusted source who claim @Pepo had it on heavy rotation.

Omg no :rip: I actually dislike Spirit as well as Be Alive.

If I'm not mistaken, both @Armani? and @Keith used to be the most vocal Spirit supporters during its release, but now it's basically nobody's fav.

This is going to sound stupid but if streamers are genuinely worried about the “replay value” of the visuals or whatever…could they not like split the film into 2 parts and release it over 2 Fridays or something?

I think that was just BS because 99% of Netflix movies and shows fizzle out after a week. Their hits with longevity only happen a couple times a year.

why do i feel like that’s how all of her negations abroad went for whatever reason and we’re not getting more legs :tornado:

Things still get watched though. Whoever streams The Town pays like 10-15 million yearly to keep licensing it because people keep coming back to it.

I believe it. I’ve been a Beyoncé fan for over 16 years and have watched BIK once. Lemonade 1.5

oh ya that's a great one. I always liked the original though, but she definitely improved it.

Yeah I think a visual film is a lot harder for replay value. It’s still kind of irksome no one is eager to bite, it’s almost as if they don’t think she has the pull anymore.

Anyways, Beyoncé keeps saying this is her gratitude tour. So perhaps it is a soft launch for retirement. She’s not trying to make the most out of the hype or build upon it.

Well, last year, [my 2010 movie] The Townlicensed for $15 million again. Because it streams. That’s the other big tenet of our company: We seek to retain the negative, to be the copyright holder, which we share with the artist. Being the copyright holder, even if it’s in 15 years when it reverts — and it should revert — you should own it because if it works, if it’s Shawshank Redemption, they’re still ******* watching it. The biggest thing on Netflix is Friends. There’s enormous value in libraries. And the streamers have overreached and recaptured too much value. The old gross days, you could really make money. They’ve taken away some of that value, so I need at least to be able to know, “Hey, look, I know people are watching. I know what this is worth

I can see why they don't have as much replay value as series do (even as someone who watched both visual albums several times) but also think that what's more valuable for a streaming service is to get people signing up, and Beyoncé has that instant-hype-factor that few other stars putting out streaming content do.

If in three years, no one is watching RENAISSANCE visuals, but the service gained a bunch of new subscribers, many of which are still subscribed, that's the only thing that matters to the company, not if they are still watching a visual album that got them there. And if people don't want to rewatch the visuals and unsubscribe, that's more a fault of the collection of content the platform has than whether or not they want to watch the one thing they signed up for multiple times.

Plus, I mentioned it a few days ago, but the percentage of African-American viewers for Homecoming was the highest in Netflix history, and was double what the #2 got. Similarly, she had a higher ratio of women up until that point, too. I don't know if those achievements still remain true, but its clear when you are looking at certain demographics, that she has HUGE appeal that cannot really be summed up in whether or not people re-watch, but in the demographics of people she brings to the platform.

What she should do, is release the visuals with like a 3-month exclusivity, after which they can be sold to her fans as digital copies.

Spirit is amazing.

We still deserve the acapella version seen in BIK in full.

But the visuals would be a completely different beast. They should just negotiate a one time payment and then keep it forever. Isn’t that what they did with Homecoming? I can see Bey asking for $30M or $40M since she got $20M for Homecoming, but I don’t blame Netflix for not taking that kind of offer.

Also go watch Black Is King :rip:
