We wouldn’t be in the trenches right now if Kris Jenner was her manager

I'm not surprised, Kris spends more time at Bey's concerts than she does in her own home

Nevermind it's from Sunday

Any of the big award shows, it doesn't really matter relevancy, because she will go viral for a good performance, she always does.

She can still perform everywhere. This mentality that she is above certain shows is not the tea. She still attends the Grammys despite multiple humiliations. The folks at the Today Show actually love her

I agree, but you know she doesn't think that way :deadbanana4:

I wish they'd post her full birthday speech to her IG. I'd love for people to see that side of her.

Well keep hoping. Her IG is by far the currently worst managed one by a celeb, which is ironic considering how much of a blueprint for celebrity IGs she was in the past.

We will get a spam of 3 posts, each having a million pics of the SAME outfit, at 2AM ET when Instagram is a graveyard. :coffee2:

Where on TV would she perform though? Super Bowl been there done that, Grammy's ain't **** and don't deserve, VMAs are painfully irrelevant, Oscars once every 15 years atp, BET I'm gonna pass on that one... where else? She's not exactly a Today Show middle of Rockefeller Center 8 AM girl anymore

I’d say BET Awards.

It may not the the top show per se, but culturally it’s the one show that still delivers. For its demo (Black, R&B, Hip-Hop) it remains the cream of the crop and brings out the culture’s biggest names.

Bey has a long, rich history with it too. They also seem to award her for waking up in the morning. So it’s only fair lol.

Grammys literally don’t deserve it. I was delulu about them finally doing right by her with Rennie, so now I finally agree it’s time for her to let them go. Even indulging her elitism for a sec, she’s most awarded and will be for a while. That alone will ensure constant mentions of her name on future broadcasts (eg challengers to the status and just in general).

Oscars when she’s ready, I guess (but they high key don’t deserve it either after the Spirit snub and not atoning with a Be Alive win).

VMAs, she has totally outgrown. She’s won every major award it has and literally cannot perform on a line up with some of the lowly names they have performing these days. There is literally no benefit for her. At best, MTV can give her an Icon special like they did Janet.

I’m all late but at first I didn’t care for this look, it seem too busy, but seeing it in HQ I actually like it – it fits!

She really did set the bar for IG. Totally changed the game, especially at Halloween time.

I have a friend (who although young has the internet literacy of a 60 year old) that posts like 7 IG posts at a time and it drives me insane. Bey reminds me of her :rip:

This awards show performances talk does bring up something I’ve been mulling over for a hot sec.

While I totally dig and indulge in how Queenly and regal she’s become, I realized that such is the enormity of her star that there’s an increasingly limited list of platforms “befitting” of her at this point. Something that will only heighten her “wanna see me live? You got to pay for a ticket” mantra.

As covered, most award shows are beneath her now. She’s done the Super Bowl 2x, done Coachella, done Glastonbury. There’s very if anything left,

I suspect we’ll start to see her revisit some of these again. Like Super Bowl as someone’s guest, Glastonbury (which enough time has passed since).

Beyond that, I wanna see some innovation. I hate to bring up Taylor (as I’m not even a fan and don’t want to spark any nonsense). But her whole pre pandemic move of launching her own festival (Lover Fest) on different coasts was something I’d love to see Bey explore. Let’s start getting inventive on the live front. Especially if the platforms are becoming fewer and fewer.

A caveat is that “this” hotter than the sun steak of Bey’s career admittedly won’t be forever. And I imagine her legacy years will see her (dare I say forcibly) become more promo friendly.

can i ask some of the more long term stans something... from my perspective, there was such a huge change in Bey's musical output beginning from self titled. like, her previous albums were great, she's not put out a bad one her whole career, but self titled really established her not only as a musician but as a visionary, the jump in quality was so insane that i almost consider it her debut album tbh, and her albums afterwards have kept this bar of quality and even expanded on it.

going from an album like Sasha Fierce to self titled is just crazy to me, so my question is what led there? did she gain more creative freedom or soemthing?

I'm with you. Grammys and VMAs are out.

Other than a few BET / NAACP / Soul Train Awards appearances in the next decade, I'm thinking a few return trips to Kennedy Center Honors (paying homage to more greats who have influenced her career).

I'm also still rooting for a World Cup song + performance, as well as an Olympics performance.

I would also love to see her perform a few times at the Tony Awards.

Her father was her manager and pushed her to her limit for years.  He also wanted her to do more commercial music and I'd say to an extent she did too so she could establish herself.

She fired him after he allegedly stole money from her and cheated on her mom. Then she had Blue and the combination of all those things seem to have relaxed her into a state where she decided she didn't want to do anything she didn't absolutely love anymore. It's also part of the reason she doesn't do the promo circuit and run herself ragged now.

Eh beyonce has done things like a night at Rosemont. She has always been innovative in finding alternative engagement opportunities with audiences. I think that was because she wanted to establish herself as the ultimate performer.

Now her priorities have shifted and she isn't as hungry for the accolades. However, I just need confirmation that nothing is coming so I can make peace with it.

It’s a mess. Just because it’s club kid inspired doesn’t make it as good as some people say. Now I hope she wears that body chain again but with something more revealing :gaycat2:

That's it.

4 (2011) was a pivotal album.

She worked alone for the first time without her father managing her, pop radio generally ignored her singles campaign, she went against the dance-pop grain with a love letter to R&B through the ages, people came for her pregnancy, and the project leaked a whopping MONTH early.

As a result:

She closed ranks, negotiated a deal with Pepsi resulting in a 50M war-chest for her visuals, filmed the entire project while abroad on the Mrs. Carter tour, scrapped most of a "brighter" retro-influenced pop album when B00TS walked in the door, didn't let Columbia hear the album until the last minute to avoid leaks, and her team negotiated an exclusive release with Apple.

The rest is history.

I doubt she'll acknowledge it since she really didn't acknowledge DIL's 20th, but ST may be the most important album of her career and I hope we get some sort of retrospective on it on the 10th anniversary, even if it's some of the people involved reflecting on the process and her state of mind going into it.

In hindsight it seems like a perfect plan, but in reality so much could have gone wrong. It really could've flopped into oblivion and derailed her career but in actuality it turned out to be a career reinvigorating masterpiece. It changed everything for her and for the industry

I'm okay with her not doing nothing with the anniversaries of her albums because she has things going on and she's still at the top. She can do those things for the 25th anniversary of DIL if she's finished with the three acts and she's not planning to release anything by then.

I’m thinking about her recording live versions of her albums like Ari did with Yours Truly with her deep voice.:!ohno:  Oh to hear her sing Be With You and Speechless in full:!ohno:

This is random but I saw a clip on twitter of Timothee smoking a cigarette and just flicking ash off the platform? What the hell kind of manners
