Beyoncé imo is more of an anomaly than Taylor because Bey is and has been  compared to Michael, Janet, Mariah, Whitney, Prince, Diana, Tina, Celine, Ashanti, Britney, Usher, Timberlake, Christina, Ciara, Rihanna, Taylor, Adele, Ariana, SZA. People even have the audacity to compare her to Summer ******* Walker because of sales. The only thing unique about Taylor is the media dominance, and that’s not surprising. What is surprising is Beyoncé filling stadiums to the brim in her 26th  year after a semi break from solo material and after releasing an album with no visuals after defining herself as a visuals artist.

They value high quality performances. So its no surprise Bey is considered a goddess there

It's wild how we're literally having conversations comparing Beyonce and Taylor Swift like they are the same. Does anyone look at Taylor Swift and Britney Spears as peers? Pink? Christina Aguilera? Beyonce and Taylor are far removed from each other in every facet. 

can we please refrain from discussing other artists in this thread please?  IDK if they still have SYG but I really would like for us to keep this thread to just Beyonce. the moment someone brings up another artist it opens the floodgates for trolls.

Beyonce is like the standard for live performances. Kpop being very focused and based on live performance obviously reveres her.

 

OT: Actually she has always been the standard for a long time and people worldwide know that (Asia, Europe, Latin America included— aka places that Beyonce is “apparently unknown”). Tbh, she could have huge massive global eras if she wants to but her self sabotage + decidedly less globally appealing sound, obviously limits those prospects.

Kinda agree, kinda dont. I mean at the end of the day having more and more hits are great, but they dont really change the narrative concerning Beyonce anymore.

The best thing shes done career-wise in the past couple of years was definitely Coachella. That performance + docu literally solidified how exceptional she is. No amount of additional #1 can impact that. Even the straights and haters agree after that that she's the best performer alive and arguably ever.

Only thing I will say in regards to the comparison discussion is that there’s a difference in comparing phenomena and comparing artists. 
 

Best selling artists are often grouped together in regards to being phenomena, but when it comes to artistry the singer-songwriters are not comparing themselves or being compared to the performance divas/divos.
