When the videos eventually drop in April I wonder if it will have the same effect Homecoming did when it came to Netflix or flop like when BIK came a year after the Gift.

I can see it going Top 20 maybe, but BMS may be the only true it from the album, at least in terms of what went Top 10. But even it's run was short and it lacked longevity because there was nothing really keeping it high. It was also unceremoniously sort of pulled from radio

 

RENAISSANCE could realistically score many hits, but I think we should probably put our energy on the tour lmao. I don't see CUFF IT becoming this smash hit on the charts if im being completely honest.

I have to disagree with this. Cuff it is a radio smash and that’s something we all agreed on as soon as we heard the album. The fact that it’s smashing on radio is proof enough. Big energy went top 3 just by the weight of radio and I can see the same happening for cuff it. 

CUFF is a hit. It be bigger/classic if she promoted.

SAME. I was listening to it on my way home from work and it just kicked in. I can't wait for the video. I can already imagine some glittery outfits (I hope it's the video where she has a (cowboy)-hat on).

 

When i think of the song i imagine her riding a glittery fake bull (or however they are called; the one she's also riding in the music video of Suga Mama) and holding her hand on her hat, looking into the camera and singing "Boy you never have a chaaaaaance" in slower motion.

Eh. The album artwork will always pop out in my head whenever the chorus comes in which makes me obsessed even more with the album cover. My fav part of the song is when she shout out all the famous brands.

I'm hoping BMS is just a summer/Pride Staple, because it didn't deserve this decline. Hopefully the tour announcment is still due this month and keep sustained until the visuals drop

Cuff It will spend more weeks on the hot 100 than BMS without going #1

I remember reading something about her having worked with Disclosure, was that true? I'm praying those tracks are part of the upcoming projects because their productions are incredible  I would die

It really deserved more, but it's rapid decline is also indicative of the fact that it didn't fully connect with the GP, video or not.

 

CUFF IT, is looking to be the albums biggest hit by far, with ot without promo. The public had responded well to it.

the GP did connect with BMS...it wasn't Beyonce's first leading #1 in 14 years for no reason. the narrative shouldn't change amongst Hive just b/c it didn't spend a gazillion weeks on the chart like other songs. it lost significant radio support b/c it allegedly got pulled...they can decide to do the same thing with "Cuff It" too.

Ehh. It spent 18 weeks, that is a bad number. Didn't even make it to recurrency. 7/11, Partition, and Sorry all did more.

 

The song did not connect with GP, and it's fine to admit that. I also think it's hypocritical to cling onto the #1 metric as proof of its connection, when Hive spent years saying a #1 doesn't tell full story. I would certainly say #23 peaking Partition was a bigger hit than BMS in the US.

 

I would compare BMS to Deja Vu, which I'm pretty sure you would have no issue with Hive saying that's a song that didn't connect with GP.

If we're talking about "full story" then talk about full story then

this is what yall do...when the numbers dont meet expectation then the narrative switches. when it was actively growing on the charts...no one had debates on whether it was clicking or if "Partition" was a bigger hit. i can't wait to see what suddenly gets re-written about "Renaissance" once Act 2 or B8 comes out. lol
