Wonder what the complaints would have been during IASF

Dual singles would have been criticized

SL not being released anywhere but USA would have been criticized

VMA performance would have been (I think it was actually) criticized

Sh!ty music would have rightfully been criticized

«Would have been»? Many of us were right here :skull: and yeah the dual singles definitely irritated a lot of fans, but it actually kind of worked. She occupied the top 2 spots on iTunes (the main platform at the time) and both leads did really well in different markets.

But I think everyone can agree that was the era where she received the least criticism from fans, although today it is most fans’ least favorite album. but as an era, it was incredible :jonny:

she achieved a newfound elevated status, had hit after hit and promoted her ass off not only with her own music but also did the inauguration, the Oscars etc. it was wild  :jonny4:

Before this back-and-forth, there was only one or two comments "complaining", people talked about music and other things then come the moralisateurs and it's been going on for 3 pages.

Even in threads outside the base, Hives always do this, there can be a page full of positive comments and the Hive will focus on that one comment and let it derail the whole thread.

Very that, its sad to see how we have such arrogant and rude users that call other users "not normal", "weird", having "mental blockers"... such low blows, especially coming from users who arent even active in this base. Thats why im going in, I personally dont tolerate that bs.

y'all need to just accept that we are in act ii: TIFFANY. Stream LOSE YOURSELF IN LOVE and buy a diamond necklace

Bey is probably BTS campaigning for AOTY, which would disappoint me tbh.

Otherwise I don't see why RENA feels like an industry exclusive era.

I guess my question is whats wrong with opinions?

Ofc we all have different views on this era and lack of xyz. But like as long as someones opinion isn’t overly cynical. Whats the problem with that?

Overall its entertaining to me but I always wondered.

Anyway what's the performances you look forward to the most, I think I anticipate POTS even more than VG, I'm also very curious to see how she will make Heated come alive live.

Of course I can't wait for AHAP but I am afraid, it's not going to get any shine. :weeps:

Definitely BMS and Heated. I need to go purchase my glittered tan for that moment. Also AHAP for the inevitable insane choreo, but it seems like it would be so dance heavy that it’d be a prerecorded situation so…

I remember a member here quiting the base becaue of anti-blackness when people were coming for Be Alive. :rip:

That was Satellites, he called me racist for disliking BA and saying it was abrasive.

Once GiRLbye also suggested that I was one because I found BSG musically underwhelming.

The propension to run to racism as a justification of hatred is lazy. Of course some members on Atrl are really racist but there's no point going back and forth.

Lately we had that pathetic thread made by Bey Admired because probably someone, somewhere called Spotify's stats bad.

But it's ok, it seems like some of them get really down when they see slight Bey's criticism posts even when it is within the base. It's ok, we are all wired different. I wonder what could be a good compromise : maybe the only positive side stays in the base and the rest moves to the Renaissance's thread, after all the complaining relates to how the era is handled.

Yeah that’s my point. I was here too. It all worked out. I think it’s clear to me (could be wrong) that she’s playing the  long game this era. We’re so used to instant gratification with her (and in general). Enjoy the process and the fact that she could be getting the ever so rare post album single success that’s so elusive in the streaming era (which I don’t think is by accident or “lucky”).

I'm actually starting to think she's going to ditch it altogether.

But I'll take a pre-recorded situation at this point tbqfh... :foxaylove2:

We’re about 3.5 months into the era. Where were we at this point in IASF? Mid January 2009? I believe Halo was just being sent to radio then (and took months and months to peak). I remember fans begging her to push it harder

I do wonder if BMS will be an anthemic moment. That moment in the UK will probably be lit.

Single Ladies video = low budget, why is it black&white

If I Were A Boy video = copaganda

So we're out here reminiscing about the good ol' IASF era during what is supposed the exciting era of Rennaissance? Wow, we're down bad lol

Yikes.

Who are YOU to tell people whats normal or normal? Ur judgy af without EVER contributing anything substantial in this base. Ur only here when u have **** to say. Talk about a miserable user. Lol

At least people complaining always have nice things to say as well and compliment the album.

Dont feel that way tbh.

These users pop up so infrequently and only complain about other people.

This is not a case like @Cbreezywhos at least a nice (delusional) user lol who writes some nice posts and isn't just arrogant and straight up rude

I’m glad you noticed I’m not really a frequent user because I actually have a life… the same cannot be said for you :coffee2:

with that being said I’m not against anyone sharing their opinions on her music or her roll out. As a matter of fact I think she could’ve done a lot more with the era but the issue is y’all continuously berate and and drag this woman for how she manages HER career  and it’s weird. At one point some of y’all were dragging her looks.. like cmon.

YOU have not been contributing anything of substance to the base and my question is why are you still here? Why are you stanning a woman if her decisions regarding her career is making you so miserable? Is there nothing else happening in your life?

The fact u didnt even realize I wasnt complaining today but only defended other users from people like u.

I've been pretty positive ever since Cuff It made some noise and I'm still positive, however u are making once again low blows insinuating I dont have a life when quite likely I earn more than u, have more than you, have a boyfriend since years, etc..

But again u feel the need to go personal.

Ur character is showing and im.pointing it out.

People (in my opinion rightfully) complain, but users like u feel the need to go extra low on them, call them out for being "weird" and calling them names.

In every post uve done today it becomes clear that u see yourself as something better, which again only shows ur arrogance.

Anyway, this is really going off topic now so I apologize for that, but u should really question ur own behavior more and the entitlement u exude. Its super off-putting.

Regarding Bey: Well who knows why she isn't performing anything. Just like u, I dont know this woman. Could be that she feels uncomfortable, not fit enough etc to really perform. Could be strategy. How should we know? We know nothing. The only thing we know is nothing is happening since album drop lol. Anything else is pure speculation and we all have the right to decide for ourselves if we want to stay blissfully optimistic or realistic or even pessimistic.

I was here, and there were a lot of complaints, but she kinda smashed right out of the gate, so it wasn't terrible.

But when they deleted that Single Ladies video with all of the views :rip:

And that awful Video Phone video (and song :rip: )

People weren't feeling SL at first either

The ONLY valid complaint so far imo is lack of live performances, which is what made many of us fall in love with her as an artist in the first place

Other than that, enjoy the music and watch the music videos in your head

i agree

i'm honestly kinda taken aback with the heightened desperation over music videos in particular. i guess i severely underestimated how important that was for certain audience.

imo the biggest disappointment is the lack of live performances so far. i know a lot of these shows are not relevant anymore but we're in the social media age...nobody has to stay up late to watch a late night show or award show. it being spread & reposted across social media will put more eyes on it.

you are right...IASF was def not hated back then in real time like it is today

Me personally I’m still hyped to see the visuals, I’m ready whenever she decides to drop them. But more importantly I’m antsy for performances.

Let’s keep the discourse growing we need to boost the pages, hopefully we can discuss the visuals by page 2000!

nah man, I can't live my life so negatively seeing the cup half-empty all the time, which is how some of you choose to operate. I come on here to talk about Beyoncé and appreciate the music and creative direction really. If I wanted complaints I'd click on all the threads twinks in a certain fanbase make :deadbanana4:
