Also Beyoncé is = to no one. She is the only artist that makes primarily RnB first and for most of her career discussed here everyday on the same level of pure pop stans.

I know this award is a joke but the point is, she has cemented herself in history with the likes of Whitney and Lauryn. And on top of that she won an award for a genre that completely ridiculed and ex

Beyoncé’s moment of peak excitement was ST and she made history. She can't recreate it every time.

Renaissance is not a comeback, Beyoncé wasn't gone anywhere. She was very active musically, just not on her solo material.

To be fair Rihanna’s peak excitement was ANTI and its sustained for 6 years due to accessibility and hits. She’s about to go further.

Same with Adele, say what you want about 30 but she still came through with the pure sales.

As fans we used to say Beyoncé was an album seller. To this day she’s done 190k pure , like what? Taylor and Rih are about to surpass that easily.

ST, Lemonade and Rennie arent that RnB tbh, so that argument doesnt even count.

The comments seen on here recently only proves that most of you care about numbers than the actual music. Beyoncé is not seeing Rihanna in terms of overall commercial performance and that’s fine…

Rihanna’s comeback is hugely anticipated as she hasn’t released anything in 6 years.. Beyoncé has never really left the scene so ofcourse her moment will be bigger. Y’all need to relax and let the girl have her moment.

secondly an anticipated comeback does not mean longevity or that the music will be  well received. One can argue that Adele’s comback was more anticipated compared to Rihanna and now 30 is not even in the top 100 of billboard 200 charts.

We can’t say she’s the best if the numbers don’t add up. It’s why Prince will never be greater than Madonna or MJ in the eyes of the GP.

She’s the most talented for sure IMO.

Finally why are we discussing Rihanna in a Beyoncé base. If y’all want commercial success so badly why are y’all even here? Taylor swift is literally right there :coffee2:

I don't see what that has to do with my post.

Let's not rewrite history because you guys are afraid of some other girls doing numbers.

ST is a moment few people have in their career, even if they dropped the ball after first week and it didn't reach its potential.

Bringing up what other girls did and achieve has nothing to do with Beyoncé.

As I said after coming from ban-land:

We have to be honest and the truth is, Bey is not very likeable nowadays. I cant even pinpoint anything regarding her personality anymore, my receipts are literally from 2011 :rip:

We dont know her, and I know thats what she wants. But thats also what kills the excitement.

Sympathy, in the era of social media and streaming, is literally EVERYTHING

Trying to bring Bey down because y'all pissed she is silent during the era? lol As if that's going to change a damn thing. Some of y'all are getting desperate and stupid. Go stan that lady from Barbados then and leave Beyoncé alone. Damn!

You said Beyoncé can’t recreate the moment and I basically said Anti was a huge moment and it’s about to surpass that moment years later because she didn’t hide her music. Beyoncé had another opportunity with lemonade to surpass ST during the Super Bowl.

I brought up sales because we always use to say Beyoncé sells albums that’s why streaming didn’t matter. The point was it all matters and out of all the girls Beyoncé dropped the ball.

Huh? ST is a full experimental RnB album with heavy urban vibes : Jealous, Mine, Superpower, Partition, DrIL, ***Flawless...wth.

Lemonade is again an experimental record and although has some rock and country, most of it is leaning on Urban and RnB.

Rennie is not an RnB album at all but even that still has urban flavor.

Every time another female artist has a major announcement, this base goes into meltdown mode. :bibliahh:

Beyoncé had ST, a pinacle, made history and did again something mind-blowing with Lemonade. None of the girls have that, not even Adele. Let's be serious. We can all be disappointed but rewriting history to make Bey look like a failure next to others is something I don't and can't stand tqfh.

I never said streams don't matter, that is a shitty argument, pedaled by weird Bey's bootylickers.

Bey has shot herself in the foot, sure but why is everyone but her being brought up here?

Not a Halftime announcement reigniting this. :deadbanana:

Spoiler

I get its frustrating but we cannot be looking bitter and jealous. Rih is having her own ST/LEM moment.

Self Titled & Lemonade is Alternative R&B.

!!! And let's put focus on alternative/experimental. What are they even talking about.

IASF and Rennie are the pop albums, still the first one has half RnB songs and the other still has songs like AHAP, Thique, Energy, Move, Church Girl.

The millennial pop icons are coming and keeping me fed until ACT ii. If anything, it’s an exciting time. :psyduck:

Like...what? Rih never did good with pure sales numbers.

I do not know where is all this confidence coming from, just because she hasn't release anything? Just because she has great catalogue streams? Well hello Ed Sheeran, The Weekend, Drake and Eminem says Hi. People are so sure Rih  is going to sell what 400-500K in the next era, when she hasn't done anything passed 300K for the past 8 albums. She quit music and all of sudden people forgot her lackluster album sales. However, she's gonna smash the streaming stats though.

I think Ariana is a great example of having huge hits but lackluster album sales. And Billie is a great example that being cool doesn't really reflect huge mega sales. Kendrick is a great example that five year gap will not guarantee huge numbers (despite his acclaim) and last but not least Lana's/Ed's catalogue streams doesn't always translate to better album sales next era. Katy's Superbowl was a huge success; so does Madonna and Gaga. Do you see them opening with 617K and 653K like B? How bout The Weeknd and Justin Timberlake?

What! I never said Rih always did good pure album sales! I said she will surpass Bey this time around because she will capitalize on the Super Bowl in the right way.

It's The Hives themselves that are not confident with B from what I've seen. I still remember everyone was predicting 100-200K back then like what the hell.

Taylor is doing all her promo for the most part through TikTok and it’s working. She’s actually APPEARING in the videos and each week there’s a new episode of her disclosing a track on her album. The engagement>>>

All she had to do was prerecord videos . Who would have thought. There wasn’t much effort into it and she didn’t have to even leave her house

Is this what we really want for Beyoncé?

There’s a reason why Beyoncé gets to be the face of Tiffany and that’s because she doesn’t cheapen her image doing silly TikToks. Neither thing serves me any purpose as a fan, but being the image of a brand certainly gives her more money.

Beyoncé opened with 617k in 3 days, changed the way the whole industry releases music, made Friday the official release date. Then came back and made an even huge splat with Lemonade.

You can call out Bey's shortcomings without bringing anyone else. And other people having success is not a reflection on Bey whatsoever. Good for Taylor (one of my faves), Adele and others.

However they can stay out of this thread.
