NEW RELEASES: A SCARY START

 

In another big win for Monte Lipman’s Republic, the three songs on Drake’s Scary Hours 2 EP (OVO/Republic) could combine to hit 1 million or more in song equivalents in their opening week. We're projecting 140-170m in combined streams this week for all three tracks. 

 

While there is likely to be some separation between the tracks as the week progresses, each title generated close to 1/3 of the first day total. In addition to the lead solo track, "What’s Next," the collection includes "Wants and Needs" f/Lil Baby and "Lemon Pepper Freestyle" f/Rick Ross—all three tracks topped Apple Music on Saturday.

I don't think an EP with just 3 songs can chart on the Billboard 200

The Scary Hours EP he released in 2018 (with the #1 hit God Plan and Diplomatic Immunity) didn't chart on the Billboard 200
