what was the record before?

Before I Like it there was a 3 way tie with Missy, Nicki, & Iggy

Super Bass, 1, 2 Step, & Fancy all spent 39 weeks on the charts

Nothing special since it’s only “by a female rapper”, which I’ve been told for years doesn’t make something a real accomplishment. :fan:

Probably more like 39 weeks isn’t that impressive, which was the highest for the past 3 female rap songs that were tied for the record. 50+ weeks is what’s actually impressive.

You're right. But hey, at least she's actually a female rapper with actual rap hits and not a female rapper who's biggest sales/ hits/ records within her catalogue come from dance-pop/ EDM/ pop songs. Do you know what is a real accomplishment though? Grammy's and #'1s. Unfortunately, not everyone has that.

OT: Congrats Cardi! Doing what other girls can't -- with an actual rap song too.

I think it went recurrent.

The "payola" comments are sending me though. They just scream PAYOLA for any Cardi achievement. Imagine being this bitter.

Obviously 39 weeks is impressive if that was the previous high and it took 5 years to top it.

whats the longest by a female?

I think it is tied with Normani's Love Lies, that was also pushed out after 51 weeks due to Thank U, Next filling up the Hot 100 the week it came out.
