So I have been tracking spotify numbers for a little over a year now and I made a "system" to measure the biggest forces in Spotify. I can explain it if someone wants an explanation, but here are the top female streaming forces:

 

1. Ariana Grande - Based on my point system, she is literally tied with RIhanna  but 7 rings is barely getting started and there's no Rihanna music out at the moment. 149 pts

2. Rihanna - Super strong catalog, however her numbers from milestone to milestone (100M to 200M, ect.) are just below Ariana's, as her's are more consistent. 149 pts

3. Dua Lipa - She's rising fast, her below 400M milestones aren't something to die for, but she's killing it with those 500M+. 127 pts

4. Selena Gomez - She's managed to be one of the 7 females to get an 800M+ song, with some other decent milestone numbers. 124 pts

5. Sia - Right behind Selena, only woman with 2 songs over 800M+. The only reason she's not #4 is because her early milestones are not as strong as Selena's. 119 pts

6. Adele - Her impact is undeniable, record-breaking music, but due to only having 3 albums, there's not much material to work with, making her achievements even more impressive. 107 pts

7. Camila Cabello - Highest female song. That's all it took. Decent catalog streams. Another big hit can get her higher. 87 pts

8. Bebe Rexha - Just like Dua, her early milestones are not to die for, but shes consistent enough to carry most songs (3) to 600M+ & (2) 700M+ streams 85 pts

9. Alessia Cara - Undeniably her current era is well.. but that does not discredit the amazing numbers she pulled during her debut + zedd. Carrying all of her 5 100M+ songs up to 300M+ 65 pts

10. Taylor Swift - Arriving late to the streaming party, it is incredible how fast she has been able to catch up with some of the girls. Along with Sel, she is one of the 8 women that has an incredible 800M+ streams on a song. 64 pts

Can Rihanna release an album first? She’s literally only released one in the streaming era and, although Anti did amazingly, streaming has gone exponentially since 2016. Ariana is working on her third.

 

That’s not to deny that Ariana is currently doing great, but it’s not really a fair comparison.

You can reference this thread and check it out for yourself, but I can summarize for you.

 

 

 

Alessia’s first era was big (and bigger than any Demi era, lead material wise) enough to put her out there. With feats, Demi should def be above her, but we’re only talking about lead credits.

 

Same as Ellie, she’s strong but not strong enough.

 

and Nicki.. well Nicki is a non factor when it comes to her lead credit material on Spotify.

Numbers Don’t lie. Everything higher than 300M for Nicki is based off BB & that’s W/ Ari & JJ, so I wouldn’t exactly call that Nicki’s impact when she can’t do the same to her past hit songs and current music out. 

 

If you can somehow provide dif numbers where it shows the other girls are bigger with lead credits, well you know how to tag & quote, until then..

 

& no shade, I like all 3 girls, I listen to them A LOT. If I was biased, the top 10 would not look like this

Rihanna released only 1 album in streaming era compared to Ariana’s 3!

Anti wasn’t up on Spotify on release but managed to do over 3B streams; as did DW!

Work and TIWYCF are currently more streamed than any other Ariana song.

Rihanna has 5 albums over 1billion streams( more than any other female) including a 2007 and a 2010 album.

Rihanna was the most streamed female artist for 3 consecutive years despite not releasing in some of those years.
