Is there like a law that country crossover smashes have to peak at #2? :deadbanana2:

based on chart performance :lmao: BR is still bigger than most of these combined.  So is YMCA and a few others that are not even top 10/20/30 etc.

"Bigger than most of these combined"?

In what metric exactly?

Digital Sales?

There are songs on this list of which were far bigger in radio airplay, recurrent YouTube views, recurrent audio streams etc. Moreover, more than a third of the songs on this list are over twenty years old and were successful in vastly different chart/commercial climates.

How do we and can we deduce what is "bigger" than another exactly?

I honestly wasn't "shading" Bad Romance, I was just curious as to why it was 'barely' ranked in the top fifty. I honestly thought it's chart performance was far greater, especially considering it peaked at #2 for 6-8 weeks or so.

because most of the other songs were hits when Airplay was everything and airplay used to keep songs forever on the charts. Hence why We Belong Together by Mariah was "the biggest song of the 2000s"  even tho it's literally one of the most forgotten number 1s of the 2000s :toofunny2:

"We Belong Together" has more recurrent streams than many other #1s of the 2000's decade, including some of which outsold two or three times over or more.

How did you come to the conclusion that it's "one of the most forgotten songs of the 2000's"?

Clearly you didn't read the rest of my previous post also.

BB literally ranking the songs and you're still saying Bad Romance is bigger than those songs in the US combined

I don't get your logic

Where is Wide Awake tho? It was #1 in sales and airplay for a long time.

Do you know how BB all time charts work?

A song that never hit number 1 could easily be bigger than a number 1 song.

Example: Bad Romance > S&M by Rihanna for example.

But S&M will get more points than BR cuz it was number 1 a few weeks etc.  and that's how their chart works it's based on peaks.

A song having more competition and peaking lower can still be bigger than a song peaking at number 1 etc.

This is how flawed BB's all time charts are :rip:  Most of these songs have been overplayed on radio at their time of release and stayed for months in the hot 100, that's hte only reason they are on this list :rip:  Do you honestly think all these 48 songs are bigger than BR ? :skull: I mean if you do, fine...

How to Save a Life, Some Nights, The Way I Are, Kryptonite bigger than Bad Romance? :skull: Sure Jan.

Exactly. This is based on the Billboard Hot 100 chart performance and there are 48 songs that couldn't reach the #1 that are bigger than Bad Romance. Period.

Weird that Work It, Shake It Off, and Party in the USA are absent.

Then I guess The Fame isn't the 12th biggest album of all time

It simply didn't have the same staying power (on the charts) that "Just Dance" and "Poker Face" had. Outside of charts though, it did have an impact, for sure.

"Cruise" by Florida Georgia Line peaked at #3. Had to be remixed though.
