Has there ever been a Ariana Grande rate? If not I think she might be a good candidate for one next.

Unless there's been another one since that I just can't find, there was one before Sweetener

I believe @Treacherous has one coming on the near horizon but idk the exact timeline :suburban:

And the winner of Ladies of Jazz is...

this would be great, "this old heart of mine" ftw (tho ofc it's men so it's hobbling in at #42 or something behind a million supremes hits)

Oh yeah we need that :jonny:

I would love a rate of 2023/2024 indie/indie rock albums

some of the options for the lineups:

Yeule - Softscars

Nilufer Yanya - My Method Actor

Waxahatchee - Tigers Blood

Beabadoobee - This is How Tomorrow Moves

Wednesday - Rat Saw God

Feeble Little Horse - Girl With Fish

Indigo De Souza - All of This Will End

I wonder if people would be interested in this? I feel like these are noteworthy enough but it would be a niche rate of like prob 15 participants

Was about to say at the very least @Eeveelution would eat up whatever line-up you settled on but saw he'd already liked it because of course he had

:suburban:

I feel like a long time ago I did a rate that had like beabadoobee, Clairo, soccer mommy(?), and others??

but im so weathered and haven't used atrl in ages that I don't even remember hosting

To offer an outsider perspective, I would try a rate like that (me not knowing any of the music) if there were... 4 or 5 albums maybe?

Yeule - Softscars

Nilufer Yanya - My Method Actor

Waxahatchee - Tigers Blood

Beabadoobee - This is How Tomorrow Moves

Wednesday - Rat Saw God

I feel like this would be the best lineup in that case since it offers a bit of variety for everyone:  shoegaze/dreampop, classic indie rock, americana, pop rock, country rock

I do love FLH so if I could sneak them in... :keir: it's only like 26 mins! But I agree 5 is prob the best

The indie pop girl threads here seem to do pretty well so I'm sure it could be a semi-hit rate with the right lineup.

I almost want to say bring back the This WAS rates but I saw how y'all did Japanese Breakfast in the 2021 rate so maybe not.

:suburban:

This is also a more (sane) approach to this theme since I initially was like MJ Lenderman and Alex G

The concept of me finally listening to beabadoobee for the rate after refusing to for years because of that stupid ******* name

The way this is like her weakest album too

but I can't stretch to make a 2022 album fit

A good friend of mine is a fan and is constantly trying to get me to look past the name so either way they'd be pleased

Babe...

We still haven't had a rate of the BIG indie rock albums of 2023 (Lana, Caroline, Sufjan, Kelela) and 2024 (Clairo, mk.gee, MJ Lenderman) yet. I would do one of those FIRST tbh.
