If you are bright enough ,you shouldn't expect that at all once you heard the song cause it's not your typical hit song .Your life must be sad at this point . Please move on .

You are so right once you heard the song all these high expectations should have been out the window.  Then once she released a competing single that should been an even bigger clue that she wants to move on from it.  But lil brush loves rentboy because he says what they like to hear.  But he really eggs on the most in this thread with constant flamebait posts.

This is actually underwhelming for Taylor .But that's fine cause it's performing better than I expected after hearing the song .

actually this is inline with how her no.1 singles have performed. She's always had frontloaded debuts. WANEGBT went no.1 for 3 weeks, SIO for 4 weeks, Bad Blood for 1 week. Only Blank Space is an exception (7 weeks). Given the song is a statement track, super polarising, I think it did pretty well.

this is the kind of personal dig post I said I wish I had a dollar for each one I received. Address the post not the poster. Thats my tip of the week.

This is getting a bit repetitive...

Sam gets a green Update  :rip:

Gurls, Sam and Taylor is both doing good. No matter whos #1 and #2, the sales different might be just around 10k, no need to argue over that.

"She never wanted success with this single, she just wanted to make a statement..."

"All those high expectations regarding Taylor's lead single should have disappeared after listening to the song..."

So you agree, the song is underperforming?

Some swifties need to calm down, it's getting to the point where you are labelled as a "hater" when you point out a negative thing about Taylor.

Peace and love.

No, the song is already a huge hit since the moment it exploded first week, it achieved in one week things other popgirls could only dream to achieve this year in their entire singles chart runs, and its still #1 in hot 100 in  its 3rd week.

We are just stating the fact that we know Taylor is going to release the official second single before she drops the album, which means LWYMMD is not thought to have the same longevity as SIO for example

Source? And receipts?

1
Sam Smith - Too Good at Goodbyes
  1.0000
2
Taylor Swift - Look What You Made Me Do
  0.9163

"Taylor will return to #1 by tomorrow"

"Let's see if Sam is still Top 10 at the end of the week"

:cm: :eatpopcorn:

I remember some people were saying that Sam would be out of the top 10 by the end of the week and today is the end of the tracking week and still #1

Shake had amazing longevity though, and, had it not had to compete with AATB (and vice versa), it (they) would've had a double digit #1 run(s).

Never is a better comparison here, as it really had rather poor longevity after a super strong start. Trouble was bigger overall, even though it stalled at #2.

#23 Camila Cabello - Havana (feat. Young Thug)

#41 Halsey - Bad at Love

They're coming :clap3:

! Samantha Smith is kinda a pop girl now, so they both saved ATRL :clap3:

Underperforming while stomping all the other female pop singles this year and being the first solo female #1 since Hello?

She's smashing, no other word for it.

She stopped at 99%

Imagine Dragons twice in the top 10 :worship2: They are killing it this year :alexz:

Sam still #1 :clap3:

And I hadn't had the chance to remark that Disturbed's "The Sound Of Silence" had a surge on 9/11 and returned to the top 100. So, as last year, the song rises on iTunes on that date. I imagine it will continue to happen in the future, mostly because the song has never left the top 200 since its release and it's already a memorial anthem (Original Version as well).

Wow  It's impressing to see it so high already, considering it doesn't have a lot of airplay (I think?)

I thought it would flop

i don't understand how Taylor's Look is underperforming when it is going to be #1 on the hot 100 for a third week
