I know we are only like 1 week into the midnights era, but given how massive its first week was (let’s face it, midnights > 1989 for first week performance), and it’s fun to predict these things, which era do you think will end up bigger? 1989 was a perfect era with crazy commercial success, massive tour and even with an AOTY. You are acting like OTR did absolutely nothing for his album sales. If the song isn’t this big, his sales wouldn’t be anywhere near this. There are many factors that go into album sales, especially for debut week where the size of the fan base is usually the deciding factor. lil nas x literally has nothing else going for him other than having a huge single which can only contribute so much to the album sales.
